Let’s talk about the kind of dinner that doesn’t just feed your family but makes them cheer when they see it coming out of the oven. That’s exactly what Texas Toast Sloppy Joes do. They’re saucy, cheesy, hearty, and just the right amount of messy (because let’s be honest, if it’s not a little messy, is it even a sloppy joe?).

Here’s why this recipe deserves a permanent spot in your rotation: it’s versatile enough for weeknight chaos, indulgent enough for game day, and cozy enough for Sunday suppers. It’s the kind of recipe that feels indulgent but is secretly practical — hamburger for the protein, soup for the flavor boost, ketchup and mustard for that tangy kick, and of course, Texas Toast for the ultimate buttery, garlicky base.

And let’s be honest: sloppy joes are basically the universal love language of comfort food. They’re nostalgic, they’re crowd‑pleasing, and they somehow manage to feel both rustic and indulgent at the same time.

  • 11/2 cups ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoons mustard
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 11.25 ounces Texas Toast Garlic 8 slices
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.

Line a baking sheet with tinfoil and place frozen Texas toast evenly apart.

  • Bake according to box instructions.

While the Texas toast is baking, brown the ground beef in a skillet on the stovetop over medium heat.

When about 90% cooked through, drain the excess grease.

Add soup, ketchup and mustard to meat and stir until combined.

Turn down the heat, and simmer on low for 5 minutes

Top the Texas toast evenly with the meat mixture.

Add shredded cheese to each of the toast slices.

Return to oven and baked for about 5 to 8 minutes until cheese is melted and beginning to brown.

Once finished, remove from oven and use a spatula to plate. Top with fresh parsley just before serving.
