🍝✨ Skillet Chicken Tortellini Alfredo — Creamy, Cheesy, and Weeknight‑Hero Approved
Cheese‑stuffed pasta, juicy rotisserie chicken, and a sauce so creamy it deserves its own fan club — this Skillet Chicken Tortellini Alfredo is the one‑pan wonder your weeknight has been begging for.

Let’s be honest: weeknight dinners can feel like a juggling act. You want something quick, but you also want something that makes your family cheer instead of asking, “Is there cereal?” Enter: Skillet Chicken Tortellini Alfredo.
This dish is the ultimate comfort food glow‑up. It’s hearty, cheesy, and saucy, but it comes together in one skillet (because who has time for a sink full of dishes?). The tortellini is pillowy and cheesy, the rotisserie chicken is juicy and flavorful, and the Alfredo sauce? Oh honey, it’s rich, garlicky, and silky enough to make you want to lick the spoon.
Why this recipe is a keeper:
- One‑pan wonder — fewer dishes, more Netflix.
- Cheese factor — Parmesan, mozzarella, AND cream cheese. Triple threat.
- Family‑friendly — picky eaters don’t stand a chance.
- Quick comfort — ready in under 40 minutes.
- Versatile — swap proteins, sauces, or veggies to fit your vibe.
💬 Reader prompt: Are you team “extra Parmesan on everything” or team “just a sprinkle will do”? (Spoiler: there’s only one correct answer.)
It’s been a while since we’ve prepared an entire dinner in one skillet and I am excited to share with you this dish. A couple of years ago I posted this one skillet Lasagna and after it’s debut it has become one of my families favorite. This dish is equally easy, and tasty dish.

NOTES:
- I always use minced garlic instead of a garlic powder because it gives your dish new level.
- This is such a rich and creamy dish that serving sizes will probably be smaller. I suggest serving it with a green salad to balance out the meal.

Skillet Chicken Tortellini Alfredo
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter
- 2 to 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup grated Parmesan
- 1/2 cup Mozzarella, shredded
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- salt , to taste
- 18 ounces frozen or dry cheese tortellini
- Rotisserie chicken, shredded
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
- Heat the heavy cream, butter, garlic, cream cheese, nutmeg, 1/2 cup of the Parmesan, Mozzarella and 1 teaspoon salt in a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat, whisking occasionally, until the cheese and butter are melted, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the tortellini and simmer until cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes. Add the chicken and sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup Parmesan.
- Bake until the chicken is just cooked through, the sauce has thickened and the top starts to turn golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with the parsley.

💬 Reader prompt: Do you like your Alfredo sauce thick and clingy, or silky and pourable?
👩🍳 Cooking Tips
- Sauce Saver: If sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water. Too thin? Simmer longer.
- Cheese Trick: Grate your own Parmesan — pre‑shredded doesn’t melt as smoothly.
- Protein Swap: Rotisserie chicken is a time‑saver, but grilled shrimp or sausage are amazing too.
- Nutmeg Note: A little goes a long way — don’t overdo it.
- Serving Suggestion: Pair with garlic bread (because carbs on carbs is a lifestyle).
🔄 Recipe Variations
- Spinach Alfredo: Stir in fresh spinach for a pop of green.
- Broccoli Alfredo: Add steamed broccoli florets.
- Spicy Alfredo: Add red pepper flakes or Cajun seasoning.
- Four‑Cheese Alfredo: Add fontina or asiago for extra richness.
- Meatless Monday: Skip chicken, double the tortellini.
💬 Reader prompt: Which version would your family devour first — spicy, veggie‑packed, or four‑cheese?
🧒 Kid Tips
- Call it “cheesy pasta” to get instant buy‑in.
- Let kids sprinkle the parsley (they’ll feel fancy).
- Serve with breadsticks for dipping.
- Tone down garlic if your kids are sensitive.
🛒 Grocery Hacks
- Tortellini: Frozen tortellini is just as good as fresh — and cheaper.
- Chicken: Rotisserie chicken = weeknight lifesaver.
- Cream Cheese: Store extras in the freezer for emergencies.
- Parmesan: Buy wedges, not tubs — better flavor, better melt.
- Heavy Cream: Keep shelf‑stable cartons in the pantry.
💬 Reader prompt: Do you usually buy tortellini fresh, frozen, or shelf‑stable?
