👩🍳 Cooking Tips for the Best English Muffin French Toast
- Don’t rush the soak — English muffins are denser than bread, so give them time to absorb the custard.
- Medium heat is magic — Too hot and they’ll burn before the inside cooks; too low and they’ll dry out.
- Use day-old muffins — Slightly stale muffins soak up custard better.
- Butter + oil combo — A little oil with the butter prevents burning while keeping flavor.
- Serve immediately — They’re best hot off the skillet.
🎨 Recipe Variations
- Berry Bliss — Add fresh blueberries or raspberries to the custard before soaking.
- Coconut Dream — Swap milk for coconut milk and top with toasted coconut.
- Chocolate Indulgence — Add 1 tablespoon cocoa powder to the custard and serve with chocolate sauce.
- Savory Twist — Skip sugar and cinnamon, add herbs and cheese, and serve with bacon.
- Pumpkin Spice — Add 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice to the custard.
🧒 Kid Tips
- Cut muffins into sticks before soaking for easy “French toast dippers.”
- Let kids sprinkle powdered sugar or drizzle syrup.
- Serve with a side of fruit for a balanced breakfast.
- Keep cinnamon light if your little ones aren’t spice fans.
🛒 Grocery Hacks
- Buy muffins in bulk — Freeze extras and thaw as needed.
- Store-brand works — No need for fancy muffins; the custard makes them shine.
- Use up milk — This recipe is perfect for finishing off that last half cup.
- Vanilla extract — Buy larger bottles; it’s cheaper per ounce.
- Cinnamon — Keep a jar in your spice rack for quick flavor boosts.

Breakfast Potatoes! There are times when we just love having breakfast foods for dinner. A few Sundays ago that was the case! My husband was so excited to try new recipes so we could share them with you! Let me tell you, he is really picky about what I put on the blog!! There are times that I make something and he will say, ” that is not up to the blog standard”!
Now you know, we don’t put everything we make on the blog because Mikie won’t have it! At the Lewis home, when we are making breakfast potatoes, they are usually smothered in cheese, but not this time! This recipe is more focused on the flavors of the veggies and it was a nice change.
Get your fork ready! This easy deep dish quiche is perfect for any meal! The crunchy bacon, caramelized onions and ooey gooey cheese will satisfy everyone. Hello yummy!
