🍪✨ Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies — The Sweetest Hug in Cookie Form
“Because life’s too short for small cookies — go big, go gooey, go home happy.”

These Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies are the kind of treat that make people stop mid-sentence and say, “Oh my goodness, what is in these?!” They’re thick, bakery-style, with crisp golden edges and soft, melty centers loaded with creamy milk chocolate chips.
They’re:
- Big and bold — each one is practically a dessert on its own.
- Perfect for sharing — or not, no judgment here.
- A guaranteed crowd-pleaser — from bake sales to Sunday dinners.
I love cookies! I believe that cookies are my favorite dessert! We have been baking so many cookies this week. It was Miss 22 year old’s birthday and her favorites dessert is cookies too! She convince her dad to make sugar cookies but she also loves chocolate chip cookies! Don’t worry, she didn’t eat them all at once! lol! I have decided that I’m going to freeze part of them, so I can have a delicious treat later!
We have posted a few chocolate chip cookie recipes in the past and all of them are yummy but a little twist to each recipe. What makes this one different? The size, cold butter, and I used cake flour. Yes, it makes a difference!

👩🍳 Cooking Tips for the Best Cookies
- Cold butter is key — It helps create thick, bakery-style cookies.
- Don’t overmix — Once you add the flour, mix just until combined.
- Size matters — Big dough balls mean gooey centers and chewy edges.
- Rotate pans — For even baking, switch racks halfway through.
- Rest time — Letting cookies sit on the sheet after baking helps them set without overbaking.
🎨 Recipe Variations
- Sea Salt Sprinkle — Add flaky sea salt right after baking for a sweet-salty combo.
- Nutty Twist — Stir in chopped pecans or walnuts.
- Triple Chocolate — Add white and dark chocolate chips along with milk chocolate.
- Espresso Kick — Mix in 1 tsp instant espresso powder for a mocha vibe.
- Holiday Cheer — Swap chips for red and green M&Ms in December.
🧒 Kid Tips
- Let kids measure the chocolate chips — they’ll “accidentally” sneak a few.
- Give them a small scoop to make mini cookies.
- Have them press extra chips on top before baking for a bakery look.
- Serve with cold milk for the ultimate dunking experience.
🛒 Grocery Hacks
- Buy butter in bulk — Freeze sticks to save money.
- Stock up on chocolate chips during sales — They last for months.
- Cake flour swap — If you don’t have cake flour, replace with all-purpose plus 3 Tbsp cornstarch.
- Brown sugar saver — Keep a marshmallow or bread slice in the container to prevent hardening.
- Vanilla extract — Make your own by soaking vanilla beans in vodka for 6 weeks.

Big Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup cold butter cut into small pieces
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups cake flour
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, beat the 1 cup cold butter and 1 1/4 cups brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar on high speed for 3-5 minutes, occasionally scraping down the sides of the bowl.
Add 2 eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla and beat for 1 minute more.
Mix in 1 1/2 cups cake flour, 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1 teaspoon salt. Stir in 2 cups milk chocolate chips.
Measure 1/3 cup of dough and form into a ball. Place the dough balls on the prepared cookies sheets, 2 inches apart (4 cookies per sheet).
Bake for about 10 minutes, or until cookies are just golden. Do not over bake. Let sit on cookie sheet for ten minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
