TIPS AND TRICKS
FRUIT: Not feeling the berries we chose? You choose your favorite fruit! It will work!
FROZEN? Frozen fruit comes with ice crystals and changes the consistency of the salad. Fresh is best for this salad.
COOL WHIP OPTIONS: If you want a lighter version, you can use the lighter version of Cool Whip and Cream Cheese.
Storage and Make-Ahead
Store your cheesecake salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. If the dressing separates slightly, give it a gentle stir before serving. Keep extra mini marshmallows on hand for a fresh garnish, and add a handful just before plating to retain their signature chew.
Nutritional Boost Ideas
- Stir in 2 tablespoons chia seeds or ground flaxseed for extra fiber and omega-3s.
- Swap Cool Whip for Greek yogurt whipped with a touch of honey for added protein.
- Mix in a scoop of collagen powder into the base for hair, skin, and joint support.
Dietary Adaptations
- Gluten-Free: This recipe is naturally gluten-free when using certified gluten-free pudding mix.
- Low-Sugar: Use sugar-free pudding mix and swap marshmallows for sugar-free mini marshmallows.
- Vegan: Use dairy-free cream cheese, coconut whipped topping, plant-based milk, and vegan marshmallows.

This looks so good, especially the addition of cream cheese. I even like the placemats. I have those too. What I really love is the mention of salads you grew up eating like orange creme, pistachio and your Grandma’s Potato Salad. I made the potato salad because it looked just like the one my grandma made and it was. I was so happy because she never recorded her recipes. Thank you! I just started a group on Facebook called Cooking and Memories. I hope it will be a safe place where we can share recipes that either evoke memories from the past or will create new memories. I would love to have you join the group and share more of your cooking and memories.
