Cheeseburger Sliders
🍔 Cheeseburger Sliders — The Bite-Sized Burgers Everyone Will Love!
“Because sometimes, the best things in life come in twelves… especially when they’re cheesy, beefy, and baked to golden perfection.”

Cheeseburger sliders are the ultimate party trick — all the juicy, cheesy goodness of a classic burger, but in adorable, shareable form. They’re perfect for game day, family dinners, potlucks, or those nights when you want something fun without firing up the grill.
These sliders are built on soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls, layered with melty cheese, savory beef, tangy pickles, and a buttery sesame seed topping. They bake together in one pan, which means less mess, less stress, and more time to enjoy with your people.
I’m always surprised when I make sliders, how these little beauties can pack so much flavor in such a little package. I have been looking for new party recipes for the Super Bowl, and this caught my eye.
Our family is a little crazy when it comes to the Super Bowl. It has become a family holiday. The past few years, we have had themed party food for the occasion. Last year, we did charcuterie boards that were based on Taylor Swift eras, super fun! This year, we are trying to come up with the most over the top sandwiches, with the most flavor, that we can share.
That is why I have been on the search for the best sandwich! These little babies aren’t your ordinary cheeseburger, the flavors in this little baby will leave you speechless!

Cheeseburger Sliders
Ingredients
- 1 medium yellow thinly sliced
- 12 slices of medium cheddar cheese
- 3 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 to 3 garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (12-ounce) package Hawaiian sweet rolls, such as King’s
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced dill pickles
- 1 tablespoon melted butter or olive oil
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon dried chives
Instructions
Heat the oven to 350°F.
Heat 2 teaspoons of the oil in a large skillet over high heat until shimmering. Add 2 cups thinly sliced yellow onions and cook until charred in spots, 4 to 6 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
Reduce the heat to medium-high. Add the remaining 1 teaspoon oil and 1 pound ground beef to the pan. Cook, breaking the beef up with a wooden spoon into small pieces, until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Drain meat, and place back into the pan. Add 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard, 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, until deeply browned in spots, about 2 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat.
Without separating the rolls, cut 1 package Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls in half horizontally with a serrated knife. Place the bottom half of the rolls cut-side up in a small rimmed baking sheet.
Arrange 6 American cheese slices on the bottom half of the rolls in an even layer, overlapping the slices as needed to fit. Top with the onions in an even layer. Transfer the beef mixture evenly over the onions. Place the remaining slices of medium cheddar cheese on top of the meat mixture and then a layer of sliced dill pickles. Place the top half of the rolls cut-side down over the pickles.
Brush 1 tablespoon melted butter or olive oil over the top of the rolls, then sprinkle with 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, and dried chives. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 10 minutes. Uncover and bake until the cheese is melted and bun tops are toasted, 12 to 15 minutes.

👩🍳 Cooking Tips for Perfect Sliders
- Don’t skip the onion step — That char adds depth and sweetness.
- Seal in the juiciness — Cheese under and over the beef keeps the bread from getting soggy.
- Use a serrated knife — It makes slicing the rolls clean and easy.
- Make ahead — Assemble, cover, and refrigerate. Bake when ready, adding 3–5 minutes to cook time.
- Crowd control — Slice before serving so guests can grab and go.
🎨 Recipe Variations
- Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders — Add crispy bacon between the beef and cheese layers.
- BBQ Sliders — Swap mustard for BBQ sauce and add caramelized onions.
- Spicy Kick — Add jalapeños and pepper jack cheese.
- Mushroom Swiss — Sauté mushrooms and swap cheddar for Swiss.
- Breakfast Sliders — Replace beef with sausage, add scrambled eggs, and top with cheddar.
🧒 Kid Tips
- Use mild cheddar or American cheese for picky eaters.
- Skip the pickles if your kids aren’t fans.
- Let them help sprinkle sesame seeds — they’ll feel like mini chefs.
- Serve with ketchup for dipping (kids love the dunk factor).
🛒 Grocery Hacks
- Buy rolls in bulk — Freeze extras for next time.
- Shred your own cheese — Melts better and saves money.
- Use store-brand condiments — No one will notice in a baked slider.
- Check the deli — Sometimes pre-sliced cheese is cheaper than packaged.
- Ground beef sales — Buy in bulk, portion, and freeze.

💭 Final Thoughts
Cheeseburger sliders are the kind of recipe that makes you feel like a kitchen rock star without breaking a sweat. They’re easy, adaptable, and guaranteed to disappear fast.
Here’s the truth — these sliders aren’t just food, they’re a vibe. They’re the smell of buttery rolls baking in the oven, the sizzle of beef hitting a hot skillet, the way melted cheese stretches when you pull one apart. They’re the kind of recipe that makes people gather around the kitchen island before you’ve even called them to the table.
They’re perfect for those moments when you want to feed a crowd without juggling multiple pans or flipping burgers one by one. Instead, you get to slide a single tray into the oven, pour yourself a drink, and actually enjoy the company you invited over. And when that tray comes out, golden and bubbling, you’ll watch hands reach in from every direction — because no one can resist “just one” (and we all know it’s never just one).
These sliders are also a reminder that comfort food doesn’t have to be complicated. You don’t need a dozen fancy ingredients or hours of prep to make something that feels special. You just need a few pantry staples, a little layering magic, and the willingness to share.
They’re adaptable, too — the kind of recipe you can dress up for game day, make kid-friendly for a birthday party, or turn into a midnight snack after a long day. They’re the recipe you’ll pull out again and again, because they never fail to deliver.
And maybe that’s why I love them most — they’re not just delicious, they’re dependable. They’re the kind of dish that makes you look like you’ve got it all together, even if you threw them together in 20 minutes while still in your slippers.
So the next time you need something that’s equal parts easy, impressive, and downright crave-worthy, make these Cheeseburger Sliders. Share them with friends, serve them to your family, or keep the whole tray for yourself (no judgment here). And when you do, don’t forget to tag your creation with #SliderSquad — because I can’t wait to see your twist on this classic.
Because at the end of the day, the best recipes aren’t just the ones we eat — they’re the ones we remember. And trust me, these little beauties are unforgettable.
