Ellie had the most perfect birthday party! It was hard to decide what kind of cake to make, because she loves everything. I’ve been obsessed with everything that has browned butter, it gives it a nice caramel flavor. This cake had everything you could want and more!



Browned Butter Cake


  • 14 oz all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • oz granulated sugar
  • 4 oz brown sugar sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 10 oz buttermilk warmed, and divided
  • 3 large eggs room temperature
  • 8 oz browned butter room temperature, after it’s browned there should be 8 oz
  • 4 oz vegetable oil
