Kansas City Barbecue Sauce

We love us some barbecue at our house! Kansas City Barbecue Sauce is my most favorite kind of barbecue sauce to use!

We probably love barbecue a little too much but we are always trying to make it better. We’ve been experimenting with making ribs and brisket better now that meat prices have been coming down a little and with that we’ve been trying to make our barbecue sauces better.

I think we need to find cheaper hobbies because these ones might break the bank but it’s a delicious hobby! This sauce was super yummy, give it a try!

Ingredients

  • 14 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1 Tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Whisk to combine. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Simmer for 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely before transferring to an air tight container.
  2. Refrigerate for 24 hours for the best flavor. Will last up to 4 weeks in an airtight container
