Hello, my lovelies! How is May treating you? At my house, it’s been crazy busy and it feels like I only a few minutes to catch my breath! Trying to get the girls to the finish line with their grades and keeping up with the end of school activities, I feel like I’m living in a crazy world! With that being said, you still need to eat, and what better time to treat yourself to something incredible!
I have never kept a lot of treats around the house because if they’re at the house, I know I’m going to eat them but I do love to bake!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Bread


1 1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup applesauce
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
5 Tablespoons butter
1 /14 cup heavy cream
2 Tablespoons corn syrup
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 5-inch bread pan and set it aside.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • In a different bowl, combine together the applesauce, oil, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and sour cream.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the applesauce mixture and then the chocolate chips. Stir until the batter is just combined, make sure not to over mix!
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs and not batter.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 to 10 minutes before running a knife gently around the edges and turning it out onto a cooling rack.
  • Glaze: In a small pan, combine the cream and corn syrup and over medium heat bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • Add the chocolate chips and butter and let stand for 1 minute, and then stir until melted and smooth. Let cool to room temperature, about an hour.
