Slow Cooker Bolognese Sauce

My husband’s favorite food is spaghetti and lasagna. I love to make him different foods but it’s nice to put a twist on his favorites. This is a nice twist, I love all the veggies and stuff blended in. It has a little different flavor. We really liked this! See what you think!

6 oz prosciutto chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large white onion, minced
2 celery stalks, minced
2 carrot sticks, minced
1.25 pounds ground beef
56 oz crushed tomatoes
3 bay leaves
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup fresh parsley
1/2 cup half and half cream

1. In a deep sauté pan, saute prosciutto on low heat for about 4-5 minutes. Add olive oil, onions, celery and carrots and cook on medium low hear for about 5 to 7 minutes.
2. Increase heat to medium high and add ground beef and sauté until browned. Drain the the fat.
3. Put all the stuff from the pan into the crock pot. Add tomatoes, bay leaves, salt and pepper to taste; cover and set slow cooker to Low for 6 to 8 hours.
4. After the 6 hours, adjust salt and pepper to taste, add half & half and parsley. Stir and serve over pasta.
