Matt has been craving Chinese food, he always suggests we go to Panda Express and I just can’t do it. It makes me sick for some reason. Also, I feel like the one we have in town isn’t that good. Anyways, we’ve been playing around with creating different recipes and this is one that we all really enjoyed! I hope you like it!

👩‍🍳 Cooking Tips for the Best Sticky Korean Chicken

Don’t skip the sear — Browning the chicken first locks in flavor and gives you those irresistible crispy edges.

Use thighs, not breasts — Thighs stay juicier and more flavorful.

Adjust the heat — More gochugaru for spice lovers, less for a milder dish.

Sauce timing matters — Let it bubble just enough to thicken, but not so long that it turns syrupy.

Serve immediately — This dish is best hot and fresh, when the glaze is still glossy.

🎨 Recipe Variations

Garlic Lover’s Version — Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the sauce.

Extra Spicy — Stir in 1 teaspoon gochujang (Korean chili paste).

Citrus Twist — Add a splash of orange juice for brightness.

Veggie Boost — Toss in bell peppers or snap peas during the last minute of cooking.

Crispy Version — Lightly coat chicken in cornstarch before frying for extra crunch.

🧒 Kid Tips

Reduce or omit the red pepper flakes for a milder, kid-friendly version.

Serve with plain white rice to balance the flavors.

Let kids sprinkle the sesame seeds — they’ll feel like mini chefs.

Cut chicken into smaller bites for easier eating.

🛒 Grocery Hacks

Buy chicken thighs in bulk — Freeze in 1-pound portions for easy weeknight meals.

Gochugaru — Find it in the international aisle or at Asian markets; it lasts ages in the pantry.

Honey — Store-brand works perfectly here; no need for fancy.

Scallions — Regrow them in a jar of water for endless supply.

Soy Sauce — Low-sodium versions help control saltiness.
