Easy Printable and Editable Packing Lists

Printable and Editable Packing Lists

If packing for a trip makes you feel like you’re auditioning for a chaotic reality show called “Will She Forget Her Toothbrush Again?”, these printable packing lists are about to become your new travel BFF.

Packing should be simple. You’re literally putting things in a bag. And yet… it’s one of the most stressful parts of traveling.

Why?

Because packing is a delicate balance of:

  • “I need to be prepared for anything”
  • “I don’t want to overpack”
  • “But what if I DO need that extra pair of shoes?”
  • “Why do I own 47 chargers?”
  • “Where did my travel‑size shampoo go?”
  • “Why is this so hard?”

Packing is a mental Olympics event. It’s a test of memory, organization, and emotional stability. It’s the moment you realize you have no idea how many socks you actually need. It’s the moment you swear you’ll be more organized next time… and then next time arrives and you’re stuffing things into your suitcase like you’re fleeing the country.

But here’s the good news: Packing doesn’t have to be chaotic. It doesn’t have to be stressful. It doesn’t have to involve last‑minute Target runs or crying on the floor surrounded by shoes.

All you need is a good packing list — a REAL one. Not the one you scribbled on a sticky note. Not the one you “keep in your head.” Not the one you forgot to update since 2014.

A REAL, printable, editable, customizable packing list that keeps you sane, organized, and fully prepared.

This post is your permission slip to:

  • Stop overpacking
  • Stop underpacking
  • Stop forgetting the essentials
  • Stop stressing
  • And start traveling like the organized, fabulous human you are

Reader Prompt : Are you an overpacker, underpacker, or “I pack everything and still forget something” packer?

Printable and Editable Packing Lists! Growing up some of my siblings (who will not be named….) routinely forgot to pack necessary items when we went on trips, such as contact cases, retainers, etc. So my Mom made us packing lists to help make sure we got everything important packed before we hit the road.

My husband and I are getting ready for a trip to Lake Tahoe (Yay!!!) so I thought this would be a perfect thing to share! I’ve modified the lists so they’re a little more generic, but you can download the word doc version, instead of the PDF, if you want to modify it to fit your families needs.

*** Don’t worry, when you actually download the word document version it will re-format itself so it doesn’t look all crazy.

The satisfaction is unmatched.

⭐ Step 4: Keep the list for next time

Future you will thank you.

😂 RELATABLE PACKING MOM MOMENTS

  • When you pack 12 outfits and wear 2
  • When your kids pack 47 toys and play with one
  • When your husband packs in 4 minutes and forgets everything
  • When you forget your charger and spiral
