Hot Wing Chicken Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
-
1 rotisserie chicken, shredded
-
4 medium potatoes, cubed
-
1/2 cup olive oil
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1 teaspoon pepper
-
1 Tablespoon paprika
-
1 Tablespoon garlic powder
-
1 cup onion, diced
-
4 Tablespoons hot sauce (add more if you love heat)
-
1 cup ranch dressing
-
2 Tablespoons dry ranch dressing
-
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
-
1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
Directions
-
Preheat oven to 450°F.
-
In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onions, and hot sauce.
-
Add shredded chicken to the mixture and stir to coat. Set aside to marinate.
-
Place cubed potatoes into a gallon-sized Ziploc bag with 1 Tablespoon olive oil and 2 Tablespoons dry ranch dressing. Shake until evenly coated.
-
Spread potatoes into a 9×13 baking dish. Roast for 20–30 minutes until golden and fork-tender.
-
Reduce oven temperature to 350°F.
-
Remove potatoes from oven and top with marinated chicken, shredded cheddar, crumbled bacon, and drizzle with ranch dressing.
-
Bake another 20–30 minutes until cheese is melted and chicken is heated through.
Optional: Substitute blue cheese dressing for ranch if that’s your wing style.

Potassium from potatoes
-
Calcium from cheddar cheese
-
Healthy fats from olive oil
Balance it with a side salad and you’ve got a well-rounded meal.
Cooking Tips for Maximum Flavor
1. Use a Quality Hot Sauce
The flavor base matters. Choose one you love.
2. Roast Potatoes Fully
Golden edges = better texture.
3. Let the Chicken Marinate
Even 15–20 minutes boosts flavor.
4. Shred Your Own Cheese
Pre-shredded contains anti-caking agents that don’t melt as smoothly.
5. Add Heat Gradually
You can always add more hot sauce later.
Flavor Variations
Because we don’t do boring.
Blue Cheese Lovers
Swap ranch for blue cheese dressing.
Extra Spicy
Add diced jalapeños or cayenne pepper.
BBQ Twist
Replace hot sauce with BBQ sauce.
Veggie Boost
Add diced bell peppers or broccoli.
Low-Carb Version
Substitute potatoes with cauliflower florets.
Kid-Friendly Tips
If your little ones aren’t spice fans:
-
Reduce hot sauce to 2 Tablespoons.
-
Mix half the chicken with no hot sauce.
-
Let them top their portion with extra ranch.

Grocery Hacks
-
Buy rotisserie chicken for time savings.
-
Cook bacon in bulk and freeze extras.
-
Watch for ranch dressing sales.
-
Use block cheese for better value.
This meal feeds a crowd without draining your wallet.
Make-Ahead Instructions
You can:
-
Roast potatoes in advance.
-
Marinate chicken overnight.
-
Assemble entire casserole and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
Perfect for busy weeknights.

Why This Recipe Works
The secret is layering:
Roasted potatoes create structure.
Marinated chicken brings bold flavor.
Cheese melts into creamy richness.
Bacon adds crunch and salt.
Ranch ties everything together.
Every bite delivers balance.
Final Thoughts
Some recipes whisper. This one celebrates loudly.
It’s bold enough for spice lovers.
Comforting enough for traditionalists.
Simple enough for weeknight cooking.
Impressive enough for guests.
It’s not complicated cooking. It’s confident cooking.
Every family has “that” recipe. The one requested again and again. The one that disappears first. The one that gets written down on index cards.
This has all the makings of that recipe.
It takes everything people love about wings—spice, tang, creaminess—and transforms it into something hearty enough for dinner.
It solves the “what do I make tonight?” dilemma.
It satisfies big appetites.
It brings flavor without requiring complicated techniques.
And maybe most importantly? It brings people to the table.
Because when something smells like roasted potatoes, sizzling bacon, and melty cheese, nobody stays in their room.
This casserole doesn’t just feed your family.
It gathers them.
And in the end, that’s the kind of recipe worth keeping.
Now tell me—are you Team Ranch or Team Blue Cheese?

Drool worthy! Gotta try this!
Maybe a stupid question but do I need to peel potatoes first? Or just cut them up?
Not a stupid question. I think it depends on you. If you don't like the peels on the potato, I would peel it first, then cut it. I like the peels left on sometimes, so just make sure you wash the potato.
This sounds delicious. Sign me up for anything hot wing! I am pinning this for later!
