Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get back to real life! I know your life is busy, like mine. Running kids to their activities, helping with homework, keeping up with the house and working! That is why I’m always looking for yummy recipes that are easy but delicious at the same time!

My family loved this recipe!!! Mike and I loved all the veggies but the girls were able to take the ones they liked and leave the ones they don’t like.

Crockpot Chicken Philly Sandwich

Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken
1 green pepper, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 package of mushrooms, sliced
1 (14oz) can chicken broth
1 (1 ounce) packet Italian dressing mix
2 cloves garlic, minced
6 buns, your favorite kind
1 tomato, diced
provolone cheese
Optional: cream cheese, barbeque sauce or even bacon, can be added to take it up a notch!

Crockpot Chicken Philly Sandwich

Directions:

  • Spray the crock pot with non stick cooking spray. Place chicken in the Crockpot.
  • Top with the sliced pepper, onions, mushrooms and garlic. Pour the chicken broth and Italian dressing mix on top.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours on low or 3 to 4 hours on high.
  • Spoon the meat mixture onto the buns and top with cheese. We placed the sandwich in the oven on broil for a couple of minutes to melt the cheese and toast the bun. Add the tomatoes and any of the other options and your ready to enjoy a delicious sandwich!
