Easy Chili Cheese Casserole

Chili Cheese Casserole

I have been trying to come up with new recipes to cook for my husband so that we don’t have to repeat a lot. This idea was one of the best ideas ever!! We both loved it and it was super easy.

Also, it would be awesome for a Super Bowl side because it’s like chili cheese fries. Obviously, I had to use my mom’s sloppy joe recipe because I like them so much better than store-bought. Here’s how it goes.

Chili Cheese Casserole

Ingredients

– Kimmer’s sloppy joes – cut in half
      Ingredients:
      1 pound of hamburger
1 can of chicken gumbo soup
      1 cup ketchup
      1 Tablespoons mustard
      1/4 cup onion

Chili Cheese Casserole

          Directions:

                – On a medium heat cook hamburger and onion until meat is brown
                – drain grease off meat
                – add soup, ketchup, and mustard to meat and stir
                – simmer on low for 30 minutes

– 2 cans of Hormel chili with beans
– 20 oz of frozen hash browns
– 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Make the sloppy joes as explained above. Then mix in the chili. Grease the bottom of the pyrex pan, then put in the sloppy joe/chili mixture. Spread frozen hash browns across the top until cover the mixture. Cover the top with tinfoil. Bake for 30 minutes. Then uncover and sprinkle cheese on top and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes.

Enjoy! We loved it!!
