Winger’s Sticky Finger Salad Copycat
🥗🍗 Winger’s Sticky Finger Salad Copycat — Saucy, Crispy, and Totally Glow‑Up Worthy
Crispy chicken, sticky‑sweet sauce, creamy ranch, and crunchy toppings — this salad proves dinner can be both indulgent and fresh.

Salads are the universal love language of fresh eating. They’re crisp, they’re colorful, and they’re always hanging out in the background waiting to be turned into something fabulous. But let’s be honest: not all salads are created equal. Some are soggy, some are bland, and some are just… beige. Enter Winger’s Sticky Finger Salad Copycat — the glow‑up version of comfort food meets greens.
This recipe is indulgent in its own way: it’s saucy, it’s crunchy, and it’s the kind of dish that makes you want to grab seconds (because one bowl is never enough). Crispy chicken strips bring hearty satisfaction, sticky finger sauce swoops in like the sweet‑spicy crown jewel, ranch dressing adds creamy indulgence, romaine lettuce brings freshness, cheddar cheese adds richness, cherry tomatoes bring juiciness, craisins add tangy sweetness, and croutons? That’s the mic‑drop moment.
Why this recipe is a keeper:
-
Effortless elegance — pantry staples, restaurant‑worthy results.
-
Flavor fireworks — sweet + spicy + creamy + crunchy = salad magic.
-
Family‑friendly — picky eaters don’t stand a chance.
-
Make‑ahead friendly — sauce and toppings can be prepped early.
-
Instagram‑worthy — colorful bowls deserve a close‑up.
💬 Reader prompt: Are you team “salad is a side” or team “salad deserves the spotlight”?
When I lived in Provo, pre-marriage, my roommate Amber and I would go to Winger’s on a Friday night and get a Sticky Finger Salad. Sometimes you just have those cravings.
I miss going there all the time and I actually had almost all of the ingredients for the Winger’s salad except the cherry tomatoes. I wasn’t that heart broken about it because I don’t love cherry tomatoes. Matt was kind of sad though. Anyways, this salad is the bomb diggity.

Winger’s Sticky Finger Salad Copycat
Ingredients
Winger’s Sticky Finger Sauce
- 1/3 cup Frank’s Hot Sauce
- 1 1/2 cups Brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons Karo Syrup
Salad Ingredients
- Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips (Baked according to packaging)
- Buttermilk Ranch (Made according to packaging) Don’t buy it in the bottle it won’t taste as good.
- Romaine Lettuce
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Cherry tomatoes
- Craisins
- Croutons, (I use Texas Toast Garlic and Butter)

Directions
- Making the Sauce: Combine hot sauce, brown sugar, water and corn syrup in a saucepan. Heat on medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Remove from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature before you add the strips. The sauce will become thick and it tastes best that way!
- In a bowl toss, the chicken strips with the wingers sauce. Then pull out and chop into bite sized pieces.
- Lettuce and then top the salad with all of the toppings and use the amount that you like! Enjoy!

💭 Final Thoughts
This Winger’s Sticky Finger Salad Copycat is proof that comfort food doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s hearty, flavorful, and versatile enough to be a weekday staple, a family favorite, or a “just because” indulgence. Plus, it’s the kind of recipe that makes everyone smile — and isn’t that the best kind of cooking?
Here’s the thing about salads — they’re never just salads. They’re the smell of chicken baking, the joy of sticky sauce simmering, the comfort of knowing you’ve got a dish that’s both playful and nostalgic. They’re the kind of recipe that makes you feel like you’ve pulled off a dinner miracle without breaking a sweat.
And this Winger’s Sticky Finger Salad Copycat? It’s a keeper. It’s savory, it’s saucy, it’s indulgent, it’s fun. It’s the kind of recipe that makes you feel like you’ve turned pantry staples into something restaurant‑worthy. It’s hearty enough to feed a crowd, flexible enough to adapt to whatever toppings you’ve got hanging out in the fridge, and comforting enough to become the dish your family requests again and again.
But what I love most is how recipes like this bring us together. Food has that magic — it’s not just about eating, it’s about sharing. It’s about swapping tips, laughing over sauce‑splattered counters, and building little traditions that make life tastier. It’s about the kids sneaking extra bites when you’re not looking, the friends who ask for seconds, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing you’ve created something that feels like home.
So here’s my challenge to you: make this dish, share it with your people, and then tell me your twist. Did you add jalapeños? Did you sneak in cucumbers? Did you double the ranch just because you could? (No judgment — I’d be first in line for that version.) Maybe you turned it into mini jars for portion control, or gave it a holiday glow with roasted peppers. Whatever your spin, I want to hear about it.
💬 Reader prompt: Should we do a “Salad Glow Series” next? I’m dreaming up buffalo chicken salad, BBQ ranch salad, and maybe even taco salad.
Until then, may your chicken be crispy, your sauce sticky, your ranch creamy, and your kitchen filled with laughter, love, and second helpings. Because at the end of the day, recipes like this aren’t just about cooking —
