If you have been following our adventures for a while, it’s no secret that we are a big fan of cheesecake! If I have a choice, I will choose cheesecake over most cakes or pies. So this recipe was a no brainer. I can always tell when I have a hit on my hands by how many pieces everyone eats. This was a 2 piece success!  With BBQ season just getting started this is a recipe that will knock the socks off of everyone around!

Oreo Cheesecake

Ingredients:
crust:
22 to 25 Oreo cookies- the whole thing
2 Tablespoons butter, melted
cheesecake:
12 ounces whipped cream cheese
6 Tablespoons sugar
7 Tablespoons sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg plus 1 egg yolk
15 Oreo cookies, chopped

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees and spray an 8-inch springform pan with cooking spray.
  2. Crust: Put the Oreos in your food processor or blender and pulse them until they are finely chopped. Add the melted butter and mix until blended.
  3. Transfer the ground Oreos into the prepared pan and press the crumbs down firmly. Bake crust for 10 minutes then set aside. Leave the oven on.
  4. In a bowl, cream together the cream cheese, sugar and then add the sour cream, vanilla, and salt. Slowly add the egg and the egg yolk until mixed well.
  5. Gently stir in the chopped Oreos.
  6. Pour cheesecake batter over the prepared crust and smooth the batter out with a spatula. Bake for 40 minutes. The cheesecake should be set around the edges and still a little soft in the middle. Let cheesecake cool for about an hour before serving.

💭 Final Thoughts

This Oreo Cheesecake proves that comfort food doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s hearty, flavorful, and versatile enough to be a weekday staple, a family favorite, or a “just because” indulgence. Plus, it’s the kind of recipe that makes everyone smile — and isn’t that the best kind of baking?

Here’s the thing about cheesecakes — they’re never just dessert. They’re the smell of Oreos crunching, the joy of cream cheese bubbling, the comfort of knowing you’ve got a treat that’s both playful and nostalgic. They’re the kind of recipe that makes you feel like you’ve pulled off a baking miracle without breaking a sweat.

And this Oreo Cheesecake? It’s a keeper. It’s savory, it’s sweet, it’s indulgent, it’s fun. It’s the kind of recipe that makes you feel like you’ve turned pantry staples into something bakery‑worthy. It’s hearty enough to feed a crowd, flexible enough to adapt to whatever toppings you’ve got hanging out in the pantry, and comforting enough to become the treat your family requests again and again.

But what I love most is how recipes like this bring us together. Food has that magic — it’s not just about eating, it’s about sharing. It’s about swapping tips, laughing over Oreo‑splattered counters, and building little traditions that make life tastier. It’s about the kids sneaking extra bites when you’re not looking, the friends who ask for seconds, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing you’ve created something that feels like home.

So here’s my challenge to you: make this dish, share it with your people, and then tell me your twist. Did you add espresso powder? Did you sneak in lemon zest? Did you double the Oreos just because you could? (No judgment — I’d be first in line for that version.) Maybe you turned them into mini bites for portion control, or gave it a holiday glow with candy canes. Whatever your spin, I want to hear about it.

💬 Reader prompt: Should we do a “Cheesecake Glow Series” next? I’m dreaming up peanut butter cheesecake, strawberry swirl cheesecake, and maybe even s’mores cheesecake.

Until then, may your Oreos be crunchy, your cream cheese silky, your sour cream tangy, your vanilla fragrant, and your kitchen filled with laughter, love, and second helpings. Because at the end of the day, recipes like this aren’t just about baking — they’re about celebrating the little joys that make life delicious.

And if you take nothing else from this post, let it be this: Oreo Cheesecake isn’t just dessert, it’s a lifestyle. 🍪🍰✨
