PUT ON YOUR APRON, YOUR ATTITUDE, AND YOUR INNER “I CAN TURN ANY DOUGH INTO A FULL‑BLOWN FESTIVAL FOOD MOMENT” ENERGY — because today we’re making a recipe so fluffy, so golden, so dangerously delicious that your family may actually start calling you The Scone Queen of Utah County.

We’re talking HOMEMADE SCONES — the warm, puffy, golden pillows of joy that taste like state fairs, cozy weekends, and childhood nostalgia all rolled into one. These are the scones that make people close their eyes on the first bite and whisper, “Oh… this is dangerous.”

Let’s talk scones. Not the “dry, crumbly, British tea‑time scones that taste like sadness” scones. Not the “I bought these at the store and instantly regretted it” scones. Not the “I tried to make something fancy and now I’m emotionally damaged” scones.

I’m talking about REAL scones — the kind that puff up beautifully in hot oil, the kind that make your kitchen smell like heaven, the kind that make your family hover like fried‑dough‑seeking ninjas, the kind that make you feel like you could run your own food truck even if you’re still wearing yesterday’s leggings.

These Homemade Scones are:

  • fluffy
  • golden
  • buttery
  • lightly sweet
  • kid‑approved
  • adult‑approved
  • fair‑food‑worthy
  • brunch‑worthy
  • and honestly? A little bit magical

They’re the kind of scone that makes people ask, “WHERE DID YOU BUY THESE?” The kind that makes your kitchen feel warm and welcoming. The kind that makes you feel like a culinary queen — even if your hair is in a messy bun and you’re using a spatula as a microphone.

Perfect for: • breakfast • brunch • dessert • holidays • neighbor gifts • “I need something delicious immediately” moments

DIRECTIONS

1. In your stand mixer pour 2 cups of hot water, the water should be hot but not burn you to touch it. Add the sugar, the salt, oil, and 2 cups of the flour.

2. Mix for about 30 seconds. Then add 2 tablespoons of yeast and mix in well.

3. Add remaining flour while the mixer is going. If necessary add one tablespoon of flour until dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

4.  Mix the dough for about 3 minutes.

5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow the dough to rise for 20 minutes or until it doubles in size. It may take a little longer to rise if your kitchen is cold.

6. Oil the counter with olive oil. Let it rest for 3-5 minutes then roll it out into a large rectangle, about an inch thick.

7. Take a pizza cutter and slice the dough into about 6 strips and then each strip into 4 pieces.

8. Let the dough rise for about 10 minutes. While letting it rise heat the oil to about 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

9. Put in the dough cook on each side until golden brown. Then set on a paper towel, to absorb the oil.

10. Then add your favorite honey butter and Eat Up!!

💭 Final Thoughts

These Homemade Scones are everything you want in a comfort‑food recipe: fluffy, golden, nostalgic, comforting, and ridiculously satisfying. They’re the kind of recipe that brings people together, sparks conversation, and makes everyone feel like they’re part of the fun.

They’re simple enough for a weeknight, impressive enough for a party, and comforting enough for those “I need something delicious immediately” days.

There’s something magical about a scone that tastes like it came from a charming fair stand but was made in your own kitchen. Something about flour, yeast, butter, and hot oil swirling together that feels timeless, comforting, and just a little bit indulgent.

These Homemade Scones are the kind of recipe that becomes a tradition — the treat your family requests again and again, the one you bring to neighbors, the one you whip up when you want your home to smell like happiness.

It’s the kind of dessert moment that makes people linger at the table. The kind that makes your kitchen feel warm and welcoming. The kind that makes you feel like you’ve mastered the art of cozy, effortless baking — even if you still set timers for everything.

So here’s your mission: Make these scones. Share them with your people. Tell me your twist. Did you add cinnamon Did you add Nutella Did you sneak a warm scone before serving (I support all of it.)

Until then, may your dough rise beautifully, your scones fry perfectly, your honey butter melt just right, and your kitchen fill with laughter, love, and second helpings.

Homemade Scones aren’t just food — they’re a lifestyle. 🍯✨
