🍬 AND a long finale that’ll have you ready to toss candy out the door with pride
So grab a cup of pumpkin spice or your drink of choice (we don’t judge). It’s about to get ghostly… in the best, cutest way possible.
My three-year-old was so excited to be a ghost this year! When I was little I always felt like my Mom made the best costumes so I wanted to make sure he felt that way too.
I asked him what he wanted it to look like and he said he wanted his ghost costume to float like a real ghost, glow in the dark, and make his face look spooky. To say I felt a little intimidated by the task is an understatement!

I really love what we came up with though! The tulle makes the ghost costume seem like it floats. The pictures don’t do it justice. When he walks around the tulle flies in the air. The top piece of the ghost costume isn’t attached so he can easily take it on and off if it’s bugging him.
We tried to put glow sticks under him to make him glow, but they didn’t look that great so we settled on a glow necklace that his Grandma gave him, which he loves. (not pictured) He loved getting his face painted too!

🧡 Basic Classic Ghost Costume — Quick & Easy
Okay, let’s do this the classic way first:
You’ll Need:
-
White sheet
- Tulle
-
Scissors
-
Fabric markers
Steps:
-
Fold sheet in half and measure against your child — it should lightly graze the floor.
-
Cut two eye holes (big enough for clear vision).
-
Decorate with cute ghost face — happy, silly, spooky, whichever fits your kid’s vibe.
-
OPTIONAL: Add glow tape around edges so they shine while trick-or-treating.
Pro tip: Place the sheet over a simple outfit (long sleeve + leggings) so they stay warm outdoors.

👻 Fun Ghost Costume Variations (Because Cute Is Not Optional)
🎀 Glam Ghost
Add tulle around the bottom, sequins on the face, and a sparkly headband. Think “Ghost Bride of Halloween Ball.”
🎭 Silly Ghost
Use goofy eyes, zig-zag mouth, and mismatched ribbons — the chaotic adorable version.
💙 Glow Ghost
Apply glow-in-the-dark tape in lines or shapes so they light up when dusk falls.
🍂 Autumn Ghost
Attach felt leaves and mini pumpkins with fabric glue for a harvest twist.

🧠 Safety Tips for Trick-Or-Treating
Halloween is a blast — but it’s also a night when parents should be extra aware:
✔ Use face paint instead of masks (better visibility)
✔ Add reflective tape to costumes
✔ Bring glow sticks or small flashlights
✔ Walk sidewalks and cross with caution
Halloween is one of the most talked-about kid nights of the year because everyone participates in costumes, candy, and creative energy.

Here’s the truth: Halloween is more than candy and costumes.
It’s a community celebration. From neighbors opening doors with smiles, to kids sprinting for treats, to parents snapping pics on doorsteps — it’s connection. It’s tradition. It’s the little moments that glow brighter than any candle in a jack-o’-lantern.
The ghost costume is a perfect way to honor that tradition.
It’s simple enough for everyone to pull off.
It’s customizable so your kid can shine.
It’s budget-friendly so no one feels pressure.
And it keeps the focus on fun, not perfection.

So make the costume.
