Cherry Dream Cake
Ingredients:
1 box white cake mix
(ingredients needed to make a cake; egg whites, oil & water)
1 (3.5 oz.) box instant white chocolate pudding
2 cups cold milk
1 (8 oz.) tub whipped topping, thawed
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
Directions:
- Prepare and bake cake according to package directions for a 9×13 baking dish. When the cake is finished baking, while still warm, poke holes in the cake using the end of a wooden spoon or something of a similar size. Make them about an inch or so apart.

2. In a bowl, combine 2 cups of milk with dry instant pudding mix. Stir well. Pour pudding into the holes of the warm cake.
3. Spread the pudding around and gently press pudding into the hole of the cake.
4. Place the whole cake into the fridge for a couple of hours to finish cooling completely. Once the cake is completely cooled, start spreading on whipped topping. Spread out as evenly as possible.
5. Spoon on the cherry pie filling. The filling won’t cover every square inch of the cake. You want that white to peep through. Enjoy!!

💭 Final Thoughts
This Cherry Dream Cake is proof that baked goods don’t have to be complicated. It’s bold, flavorful, and versatile enough to be a holiday favorite, a potluck star, or a “just because” indulgence. Plus, it’s the kind of recipe that makes everyone smile — and isn’t that the best kind of baking?
Here’s the thing about cake — it’s never just cake. It’s the smell of cherries bubbling, the joy of whipped topping swirling, the comfort of knowing you’ve got a treat that’s both playful and nostalgic.
And this Cherry Dream Cake? It’s a keeper. It’s fluffy, it’s fruity, it’s indulgent, it’s fun. It’s the kind of recipe that makes you feel like you’ve turned pantry staples into something bakery‑worthy.
But what I love most is how recipes like this bring us together. Food has that magic — it’s not just about eating, it’s about sharing. It’s about swapping tips, laughing over cherry‑splattered counters, and building little traditions that make life tastier.
So here’s my challenge to you: make this dish, share it with your people, and then tell me your twist. Did you add chocolate drizzle? Did you sneak in pineapple? Did you double the cherries just because you could? (No judgment — I’d be first in line for that version.)
💬 Reader prompt: Should we do a “Dream Cake Series” next? I’m dreaming up lemon dream cake, chocolate dream cake, and maybe even strawberry dream cake.
Until then, may your cake be fluffy, your pudding silky, your cherries glossy, and your kitchen filled with laughter, love, and second helpings. Because at the end of the day, recipes like this aren’t just about baking — they’re about celebrating the little joys that make life delicious.
And if you take nothing else from this post, let it be this: dream cakes aren’t just dessert, they’re a lifestyle. 🍒✨🍰

picky tastes here too. I’d never get the cherries past half of my family but I imagine it would work just as well with a different fruit. #FriendshipFriday
