Award Winning Hot Wing Chili
🌶️🍗 Award Winning Hot Wing Chili — Bold, Fiery, and Flavor‑Packed
Grilled chicken, smoky paprika, fiery hot sauce, and hearty beans — this chili is basically a flavor explosion in a bowl.
Let’s talk about the kind of dinner that makes people hover around the pot like it’s their new best friend. The kind of dish that’s spicy, hearty, and just a little dramatic. That’s exactly what this Award Winning Hot Wing Chili delivers.
This isn’t just chicken and beans. It’s indulgent, it’s layered, it’s dramatic in the best way, and it’s the kind of recipe that makes you want to grab seconds (because one bowl is never enough). Grilled chicken brings cozy satisfaction, hot sauce swoops in with sparkle, beans add indulgence, fire‑roasted tomatoes bring smoky joy, and that liquid smoke? That’s the mic‑drop moment.
Why this recipe is a keeper:
- Effortless elegance — pantry staples, competition‑worthy results.
- Flavor fireworks — chicken + hot sauce + paprika = comfort food magic.
- Family‑friendly — even picky eaters don’t stand a chance.
- Make‑ahead friendly — reheats beautifully.
- Instagram‑worthy — glossy chili deserves a close‑up.
💬 Reader prompt: Are you team “extra hot sauce drizzle” or team “just enough for balance”?
On the first of February, we entered the Rustica Hardware Chili cook-off and we won! Happy dance time! I was really nervous because I wanted to try something new and different, and didn’t know how it would come across to the public that was judging.
My family loves chili and hot wings and we have a lot of our all-time favorites of both but I have never tried to combine them before.
I believe that you should go big or go home when you’re up against a new challenge. We looked at a lot of recipes to compare what we were thinking of doing and then we tweaked this one until we thought we had a winner.
The great thing about this chili is that you don’t have to be a hot wing lover to enjoy it. It does have a little kick but I’m not one for a lot of heat and I love it.
Award Winning Hot Wing Chili
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 pounds chicken breasts, grilled
1 cup carrots, chopped into bite-size pieces
1 yellow onion, chopped
4 celery stalks, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 can water chestnuts, drained
1 can white northern beans, drained
1 Tablespoon liquid smoke
1 Tablespoon smoked paprika
2 cups chicken stock
1/2 cup Franks hot sauce
1 can tomato sauce (15 ounces)
1 can stewed, fire-roasted tomatoes (15 ounces)
salt and pepper, to taste
Award Winning Hot Wing Chili
Directions:
- In a large pot over medium heat, pour in the olive oil and cover the bottom with the oil.
- Add the carrots, onion, celery, garlic, paprika, and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook, stirring frequently, for about 7 to 8 minutes. Add the water chestnuts and stir.
- While this is simmering, cook your chicken on the grill.
- Pour the chicken stock and stir. Add the hot sauce, liquid smoke, tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes, and white beans, combine.
- Using a measuring cup, take 1 1/2 cups of the chili and blend in your mixer, until smooth. Then add back to the chili and stir. This will help thicken your chili.
- Cut up your chicken into bite-size pieces and add to the chili.
- Bring the chili to a boil and then turn down the heat to low. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes to let the flavors come together.
- Garnish with blue cheese crumbles or ranch dip!

💭 Final Thoughts
This Award Winning Hot Wing Chili proves that comfort food doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s hearty, flavorful, and versatile enough to be a weekday staple, a family favorite, or a “just because” indulgence. Plus, it’s the kind of recipe that makes everyone smile — and isn’t that the best kind of cooking?
Here’s the thing about chili — it’s never just dinner. It’s the smell of garlic sizzling, the joy of hot sauce bubbling, the comfort of knowing you’ve got a dish that’s both playful and nostalgic. It’s the kind of recipe that makes you feel like you’ve pulled off a dinner miracle without breaking a sweat.
And this Hot Wing Chili? It’s a keeper. It’s savory, it’s spicy, it’s indulgent, it’s fun. It’s the kind of recipe that makes you feel like you’ve turned pantry staples into something restaurant‑worthy. It’s hearty enough to feed a crowd, flexible enough to adapt to whatever toppings you’ve got hanging out in the fridge, and comforting enough to become the dish your family requests again and again.
But what I love most is how recipes like this bring us together. Food has that magic — it’s not just about eating, it’s about sharing. It’s about swapping tips, laughing over chili‑splattered counters, and building little traditions that make life tastier. It’s about the kids sneaking extra bites when you’re not looking, the friends who ask for seconds, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing you’ve created something that feels like home.
So here’s my challenge to you: make this dish, share it with your people, and then tell me your twist. Did you add jalapeños? Did you sneak in lime juice? Did you double the hot sauce just because you could? (No judgment — I’d be first in line for that version.) Maybe you turned it into nachos for game day, or gave it a holiday glow with cranberries. Whatever your spin, I want to hear about it.
💬 Reader prompt: Should we do a “Chili Glow Series” next? I’m dreaming up buffalo chicken chili, white bean turkey chili, and maybe even taco chili.
Until then, may your chicken be juicy, your beans hearty, your hot sauce fiery, your paprika smoky, and your kitchen filled with laughter, love, and second helpings. Because at the end of the day, recipes like this aren’t just about cooking — they’re about celebrating the little joys that make life delicious.
And if you take nothing else from this post, let it be this: Hot Wing Chili isn’t just dinner, it’s a lifestyle. 🌶️🍗✨
