Sometimes you need a little apple pie in your life. Nobody understands that more than me. For some reason, this is one of my absolute favorite flavors.

Matt knows this about me so he always finds me the coolest recipes! Also, he likes to add his own twist, and you can’t go wrong with caramel and apples!

Apple Caramel Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 4 Honey Crisp apples
  • 3 Granny Smith apples
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 pastry crust
  • 2 tablespoon salted butter
  • 1 cup Caramel squares

Directions

  1. Finely dice 3 of the Granny Smith apples. Add to a small saucepan with cinnamon, and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 20-25 minutes. Remove from heat.
  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  3. Cut off tops of 4 remaining apples. Core and carefully scoop out the center of the apples and place in a baking dish. When a filling is slightly cooled, divide and fill hollowed apples.
  4. Melt caramel squares in the microwave 30 seconds at a time stirring until smooth. Top over the filling.
  5. Using a pizza cutter, or very sharp knife, cut pie crusts into 1/4″ strips and lay in a lattice pattern across the top of apples. Trim excess pie crust around the edges, then brush tops with melted butter.
  6. Place apples in oven and bake at 375 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until tops are golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with extra cinnamon and sugar, if desired.

💭 Final Thoughts

This Apple Caramel Apple Pie proves that comfort food doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s hearty, flavorful, and versatile enough to be a weekday staple, a family favorite, or a “just because” indulgence. Plus, it’s the kind of recipe that makes everyone smile — and isn’t that the best kind of baking?

Here’s the thing about pie — it’s never just dessert. It’s the smell of apples bubbling, the joy of caramel swirling, the comfort of knowing you’ve got a dish that’s both playful and nostalgic. It’s the kind of recipe that makes you feel like you’ve pulled off a baking miracle without breaking a sweat.

And this Apple Caramel Apple Pie? It’s a keeper. It’s savory, it’s sweet, it’s indulgent, it’s fun. It’s the kind of recipe that makes you feel like you’ve turned pantry staples into something bakery‑worthy. It’s hearty enough to feed a crowd, flexible enough to adapt to whatever toppings you’ve got hanging out in the fridge, and comforting enough to become the treat your family requests again and again.

But what I love most is how recipes like this bring us together. Food has that magic — it’s not just about eating, it’s about sharing. It’s about swapping tips, laughing over caramel‑splattered counters, and building little traditions that make life tastier. It’s about the kids sneaking extra bites when you’re not looking, the friends who ask for seconds, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing you’ve created something that feels like home.

So here’s my challenge to you: make this dish, share it with your people, and then tell me your twist. Did you add ginger? Did you sneak in lemon zest? Did you double the caramel just because you could? (No judgment — I’d be first in line for that version.) Maybe you turned it into hand pies for game day, or gave it a holiday glow with cranberries. Whatever your spin, I want to hear about it.

💬 Reader prompt: Should we do a “Pie Glow Series” next? I’m dreaming up pecan pie, pumpkin caramel pie, and maybe even chocolate cream pie.

Until then, may your apples be gooey, your caramel glossy, your cinnamon cozy, your crust golden, and your kitchen filled with laughter, love, and second helpings. Because at the end of the day, recipes like this aren’t just about baking — they’re about celebrating the little joys that make life delicious.

And if you take nothing else from this post, let it be this: Apple Caramel Apple Pie isn’t just dessert, it’s a lifestyle. 🍏🍎✨
