10 Non Candy Easter Egg Stuffers
The Lou Lou Girls way — fun, creative, mom‑approved, and guaranteed to make you the Easter MVP.
Who says Easter eggs have to be filled with sugar when they can be filled with FUN instead?
If you’re not that excited about ruining your ongoing New Year’s resolution success with an on slot of candy for Easter, try some of these non-candy egg stuffers to switch things up! There are a lot of lists out there, but these are the ten most popular items any kid would love!
If you’ve ever watched your kids inhale Easter candy like tiny sugar‑powered tornadoes and thought, “There HAS to be a better way”… congratulations, friend — you’re in the right place.
Because today we’re talking non‑candy Easter egg stuffers that are fun, creative, budget‑friendly, and won’t leave your kids bouncing off the walls like caffeinated kangaroos.
Let’s be honest: Easter is adorable. Easter baskets are adorable. Easter egg hunts are adorable. But the sugar overload? Not adorable.
There’s something about Easter candy that hits different — and not in a good way. One minute your kids are sweet little bunnies, and the next minute they’re sprinting through the house like they’re training for the Jellybean Olympics.
And listen… I’m not anti‑candy. Candy has its place. Candy is fun. Candy is festive. Candy is delicious. Candy is also the reason you end up hiding in the pantry whispering, “Why did I do this to myself?”
So today, we’re leveling up. We’re talking non‑candy Easter egg stuffers that are:
- Fun
- Creative
- Useful
- Affordable
- Kid‑approved
- Mom‑approved
- Dentist‑approved
- Sanity‑approved
These are the fillers that make Easter magical without turning your house into a sugar‑fueled circus.
🐰 THE TOP 10 NON‑CANDY EASTER EGG STUFFERS
These are the winners. The crowd‑pleasers. The “Mom, can we do this again next year?” items.
Let’s go.
🧩 1. Mini Puzzles
Tiny puzzles = big excitement.
They’re fun, they’re quiet (bless), and they keep little hands busy long after the egg hunt is over.
Bonus: They fit perfectly into jumbo eggs.
🧼 2. Bath Bombs or Bath Fizzies
Kids LOVE anything that makes bath time feel like a science experiment.
Choose fun shapes, bright colors, or calming scents.
Pro tip: Put them in plastic wrap so they don’t crumble.
🖍️ 3. Crayons or Mini Markers
Art supplies are always a win.
You can even break a crayon pack into individual colors and put one in each egg.
Playful aside: If your kid finds the black crayon and gets mad, tell them it’s “mysterious and artistic.”
🧸 4. Tiny Toys
Think:
- Mini dinosaurs
- Finger puppets
- Squishies
- Little cars
- Mini animals
- Tiny dolls
Basically anything that makes your kids squeal, “LOOK WHAT I GOT!”
💍 5. Play Jewelry
Rings, bracelets, necklaces — all the sparkly things.
Perfect for dress‑up, pretend play, and accessorizing like the fabulous little humans they are.
🧩 6. Stickers
Stickers are the universal kid currency.
They’re cheap, they’re fun, and they fit in eggs like they were born for it.
Reader prompt: What’s your kid’s sticker obsession right now?
🧦 7. Socks (Rolled Up Cute)
Tiny socks rolled into a little ball = adorable.
Plus, they’re practical. And we love practical.
🧪 8. Glow Sticks
Glow sticks turn any room into a rave.
Kids LOVE them. Parents tolerate them. Everyone wins.
🧷 9. Hair Accessories
Scrunchies Clips Bows Headbands Tiny elastics
If you have girls, you already know: You can never have too many hair things.
🧩 10. Money (Coins or Dollar Bills)
Let’s be real: Kids lose their minds over money.
Even a quarter feels like a treasure.
Playful aside: If you put a $5 bill in one egg, prepare for the Hunger Games.
🐣 BONUS IDEAS (BECAUSE YOU KNOW I CAN’T STOP AT 10)
- Temporary tattoos
- Mini erasers
- Lego pieces
- Keychains

I have been considering not doing a lot of chocolate for my childrens Easter hunts. I had large hunts as a child and LOVED them, but it wasn't necessary. I think I would have enjoyed a few chocolates and small nicknacks to play with. Thanks for the ideas!

My mother always added 'special' items in the Easter baskets with only some candy. Some of the treats could be items to wear, special food snacks we loved, movie tickets etc. Easter morning was always a surprise to see what was in the basket besides candy.

those are all good ideas! I was at Michaels craft store the other day and they had a great section of "dollar" items that would've made good basket stuffers too.
