Out of the Box Easter Egg Hunts For Adults

Out of the Box Easter Egg Hunts For Adults! Since I have a wide age range between my kids, I love to find different ways for them to make memories and build that bond. We still have a regular Easter egg hunt for the grandkids, but let’s be honest, no one ever wants to grow up when they are around their parents!

I love my family! Honestly, it is so fun to see my kids enjoy each other’s company and take a moment to act like a kid! My youngest daughter is 13 years old and so the regular Easter egg hunts aren’t cutting it anymore.

Last year, I decided it was time to try the adult Easter Scavenger hunt and since my kids are so competitive, I was pretty sure this would be a success! We had the kid’s Easter egg hunt at my mother-in-law’s and so we had my cute nieces and nephews there and they are always up for a challenge (yes, they are competitive too). I’m so sad because I only have the pictures from one team but all of the teams had great pictures!

Easter is in March this year and so I have been on a quest to find the perfect hunt for our family gathering.  Last year, I sent them on a photo scavenger hunt. They had to take pictures to document each activity that was listed. The list had different things that could give them extra points and all the teams had an hour to complete as many as they could and be back to the starting point. Each member of the winning team received a gift card.

I didn’t know that my kids would do anything to win, like hopping fences into the community pool that was closed!

You would be surprised how willing people are to help you complete your tasks!

Here is a list of different ideas that you can do with your older kids, friends, or even neighbors! Have fun and have a Happy Easter!

Around town Scavenger hunt: This is what we did last year and it was super fun! I found the list at Coolest parties. They have several different lists and you can personalize your own.

Mural Photo hunt: Give each team a time limit and see how many murals they can find around their local area. Yes, they have to have a picture of each one.

Easter Pinata: We do a pinata at Christmas,  and the adult kids have participated. Do it outside because it can get dangerous! Fill it with things that they will actually like! You can even make your own pinata!

Confetti Egg Game: This one comes from Oh Happy Day. You fill eggshells with confetti and set aside one egg full of gold glitter. Then, hide them around the yard. Participants smash the eggs they find on each other, and whoever ends up getting showered in gold glitter wins the grand prize.

Paint Ball Fury: You can either provide a paintball gun for each participant or you can fill balloons full of paint. Hide the eggs and then let the hunt begin. If you get hit by paint, you are out!

Amazing Race: My kids have always wanted to be on the TV show, Amazing Race. This would be so fun to do! I found Party Games Plus. They have ideas on how to set it all up!

Glow in the dark: You can either put a small glow stick in each egg or there is glow in the dark eggs that you can purchase. Make it hard! Have one special egg filled with the grand prize.

Treasure Hunt: Give them the starting clue that will lead to the next one and continue until they find the loot!

GPS Egg Hunt: You can hide the eggs at certain coordinates and the participants can find the eggs using their smartphones. You can hide all the eggs and write down the coordinates for all of them and give a prize to whoever finds the most eggs or you can give each player or team a beginning coordinate and then hide the next coordinate in a plastic egg. Each hiding spot for the egg can lead to the next egg until the final egg that holds the prize!

Egg Puzzle: Hide pieces of a puzzle that they will have to put together that will lead them to the Easter surprise.

  1. This is great. I love it! I always do an Easter Basket hunt for my daughters with clues leading to the next one until they finally get to the basket. So fun to do.

  2. Loved reading about your hunt. I planned a similar thing for my daughters 20th birthday party, but it was for young adults as well as all our family friends. They also had to take a photo of someone from their team interacting with each item they found. Some of the set up scenarios where hilarious. Love the twist on an Easter egg hunt.

  3. This is such a great idea! My sister and I loved easter egg hunts as children and we often quip that we should organize an adult egg hunt for easter! Your ideas came just in time! 4. I remember helping kids do crazy around the town scavenger hunts a while back. It's great now that everyone has a cell phone for photographic evidence. What a fun way to have family time during Easter as well. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us at the Over the Moon Link Party.

  5. Great ideas, love it! Usually Easter things are geared towards the little ones. My older ones would love to do any of these. Thanks for sharing & linking up @ Wonderful Wednesday. Hope to see you again this week, starting on Tuesday.
