Realistic Toddler Meal Ideas Part 2
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I see the fancy meal ideas for toddlers on Pinterest and I’m like “um… yeah… that’ll never happen for me”.
But alas, the kid still needs to eat. This isn’t everything he eats but these are a few of my favorite go-to meals for my two-year-old who eats a TON.

Let’s talk about something every parent of a toddler knows all too well: feeding small humans is an adventure. One day they love blueberries, the next day blueberries are apparently the worst thing that has ever happened to them. Yesterday they devoured scrambled eggs like a champion, today they stare at them like you’ve served alien food.

Chicken Nuggets with Veggie Chips and Fruit: He loves getting to pull the grapes right off the vine. Veggie chips at least make me feel like they’re a little healthy!
Sandwiches and Fruit: He won’t always eat the sandwich but when he does it’s a happy healthy day!!
Bagel Thins and Fruit: Bagel thins are way easier for him to eat than regular-sized bagels and they make a really quick lunch in a pinch!
Chili, Fruit, and Yogurt: Yes, this is canned chili, my friends! I warned you, these are realistic, not organic! Sometimes you’ve just had a baby and groceries are the last things on your long list of impossible things to do am I right??
Build Your Own: When you really want to feel like an awesome mom let your toddler make his own food. This was seriously the best day of his life, apple sauce and all! (Full confession, he actually only took about half a bite of it, but it felt like a win to me because he thought he was so dang cool! I’ve let him “make” other things since then though and it is always a hit and he’ll eat it too!)
Tips for Feeding Picky Toddlers
If your toddler is going through a picky eating phase (which most do), here are a few helpful tips.

Instead of asking what they want, offer two options.
“Do you want apples or strawberries?”

I hate to be that person, but whole grapes and blueberries are a choking hazard until at least age 5.
