DIY Chili Powder

DIY Chili Powder

DIY Chili Powder! In the Spring, my son and husband set out to plant the best garden. They spent hours preparing the ground and setting up an amazing drip system for the plants.

They covered the ground around each plant with special paper so the weeds wouldn’t grow. Alas, the tomato plants became infested with disease and half of them died, after all the preparation.

On the bright side, we have peppers coming out of our ears because they flourished! We would hate for them to go to waste so we decided to make DIY chili powder!

We had so many different kinds of peppers that it filled an indoor trash bag!

I never use to make anything that contained chili powder but I have found that it can give a little bit more flavor to a lot of recipes and we all know that anything made at home always tastes better! This is so easy to do that you will be asking yourself “why haven’t I done it sooner”?

Instructions:

Fill your baking pan completely full with peppers, they will shrink up quickly. It doesn’t matter what kind you have, they all can go together.

Bake at 250 to 275 degrees for 6 hours. Let cool.

Place them in the blender, blend until smooth.

Store in a Ziploc bag and you’re ready for your next recipe!!

  2. My neighbor and I shared a garden last year and we had an abundance of peppers. We dehydrated lots but I ever thought of making cili powder. Thanks for the idea.
