Understand, that I LOVE baseball and Softball and I want my kids to love it too. I like them to look the part because it gives them confidence and makes them feel cool. I also don’t feel like you need to break the bank to get them the stuff for them to be successful.

Some of these are personal preferences which everyone will have, but not all of these items are necessary. If you’ve never been a baseball person this may help you out.

I played high school and college softball, and coached on the high school level for many years.

Glove and Bat – We buy our kids first gloves and bats at Walmart. First of all, they WILL lose their glove and bat. Write your name on it or put a sticker on it to give it some identifying factor. Honestly, it still won’t matter. They will lose it. Walmart for the win.

Tee You can set up a tee for the kids to practice outside. The more they can practice off the tee the more they will be successful hitting. When I coached high school, we used tees every single day. It’s definitely worth your money. I got the tee kit above for 20 bucks for a lightning deal on Amazon.

The Anywhere Ball Baseball/Softball Foam Training Ball (12 Pack)

Lite Flights – We love to use lite flight baseballs because they help the kids feel successful, they don’t hurt when you get they hit you. If little siblings are around then they won’t get drilled with the ball, and you can just watch the bat.

Cleats – When the grass is wet they will slide around. They needs cleats to feel cool but also to keep from falling. We got ours at Big 5 so we can try them on, all cleats fit different and sizes can be weird. You will want to try on, and if you don’t want to send them back then this is for you.

Baseball Pants – This maybe isn’t completely necessary but it makes my kids feel like they are playing real baseball. They also like to slide and dive on the ball so it protects their legs. I get mine on Amazon every year and they have lasted through my two boys.

Long Socks and Belt – They just make the uniform look good, protect the legs and the belt helps keeping the pants up and also helps the uniform looks good.

Frozen Animals Best Kid Activity! You know an activity is a keeper when your 15-year old still wants to do it! When Lisa was about 4 years old we started freezing animals in the water.

She loved melting the ice to recover the animals. Seriously, I would prepare this for her at least 3 times a week and it would entertain her for almost an hour! I thought it was time to share this with my grandkids and you! You will thank me later! lol
