🍚✨ HEARTY HOMESTYLE PLOV
Golden, fragrant, beefy, and wildly irresistible — the one‑pot rice dish that feeds hearts, souls, and hungry families.
Plov is one of those dishes that just gets people. It’s comforting. It’s aromatic. It’s the edible equivalent of a warm blanket and a deep breath.
But THIS Plov? This one is next‑level. This one is “I need a moment alone with my bowl” good. This one is “I’m making this again tomorrow” good.
It’s:
- Golden
- Fragrant
- Beefy
- Savory
- Slightly sweet
- Comfort‑food cozy
- Crowd‑pleasing
- And honestly? A little bit life‑changing
It’s the kind of dinner that makes your kitchen smell like a spice market. The kind that makes your family hover like rice‑seeking ninjas. The kind that makes you feel like a culinary queen — even if you’re still wearing yesterday’s leggings.
💬 Reader prompt: Are you team “extra garlic cloves” or team “extra craisins for sweetness”?
I love to come home from work to a clean house and dinner made. Well that happens more often than you would think. Matt is an incredible husband and takes real good care of me. It does make a little nervous when I come home to Russian dishes though.
Matt served his LDS mission in Russia and he love to make his own version of his favorite foods from there! Here is the recipe for his Plov, which I really liked! It made enough for a small village or probably 8 people, since there is only two of us we had lots of leftovers.
Plov

4 cups of Basmati rice
6 large carrots – julienned
4 large onions – diced
2 lbs. Jones Creek Beef chuck roast
1 cup canola oil
3 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon ground coriander
2 teaspoons ground cumin
3/4 tablespoon Turmeric
1/4 cup of craisins
2 Large heads of garlic – peel the first layer and cut the top of the garlic keeping the garlic whole
1 teaspoon chili powder
7-8 cups boiling water
4 green onions (for topping)

💭 Final Thoughts
This Plov is everything you want in a cozy dinner: rich, savory, nostalgic, comforting, and ridiculously satisfying. It’s the kind of recipe that brings people together, sparks conversation, and makes everyone feel like they’re part of the fun.
It’s simple enough for a weeknight, impressive enough for guests, and comforting enough for those “I need something delicious immediately” days.
There’s something magical about a dinner that tastes like it came from a rustic Central Asian kitchen but was made in your own home. Something about beef, rice, carrots, garlic, and spices swirling together that feels timeless, comforting, and just a little bit indulgent.
This Hearty Plov is the kind of recipe that becomes a tradition — the dish your family requests again and again, the one you bring to neighbors, the one you whip up when you want your home to smell like happiness.
It’s the kind of dinner that makes people linger at the table. The kind that makes your kitchen feel warm and welcoming. The kind that makes you feel like you’ve mastered the art of cozy cooking — even if you still set timers for everything.
So here’s your mission: Make this Plov. Share it with your people. Tell me your twist. Did you add lamb Did you add raisins Did you sneak a bite straight from the pot (I support all of it.)
Until then, may your rice stay fluffy, your beef stay tender, your garlic stay golden, and your kitchen fill with laughter, love, and second helpings.
Plov isn’t just dinner — it’s a lifestyle. 🍚✨

I have never heard of Plov, but it sounds great! Even though it is cooked in stages, I like the fact that it is a one-pot recipe.
