Orange Creamsicle Poke Cake

Poke cakes are perfect when you need a fabulous dessert and you don’t have much time to prepare! Haden, my grandson, has been asking me for things with the orange flavor lately. So, it was a no brainer when it came to making a dessert. Seriously, this will be gone so fast!

Orange Creamsicle Poke Cake

Ingredients:

1 white cake mix
1 cup of orange juice
1 – 3-ounce box of orange Jell-O
1 cup boiling water
1 – 3.4-ounce box instant cheesecake pudding
1 cup milk
1 – 8-ounce container Cool Whip, thawed
Mandarin oranges

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×13 pan with nonstick spray.
Mix the cake mix according to the back of the box, but substitute orange juice in place of the water that is called for.
Bake for the time required on the back of the box. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes.
Use a fork to poke holes over the top of the cake.
Dissolve the orange Jell-O in boiling water. Pour the Jell-O over the top of the cake, making sure it goes in the holes. Cool completely in the refrigerator.
Whisk together the cheesecake pudding mix and milk. Fold in the Cool Whip.
Spread over the top of the cooled cake. Cut into 24 pieces. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator.
Garnish with pieces of the oranges right before serving.

  1. The timing of this recipe is perfect. Someone made this cake for my Aunt’s Repast a few months ago. I have a cousin who is visiting next month, and she mentioned this cake from the Repast. I have no idea who made it, but I’m going to use your recipe to make her one. She said she’s just going to get a fork and dig in, lol. Thanks for sharing on Sunday’s Best!
