My family is an exploring kind of family! We do have our favorite places to go but who wants to go to the same place every year? My oldest son is always coming up with new places for us to explore on our family vacations which can be a tall order with such a large family. We want to find a place that has things to do with small children to adult adventures! Colorado Springs, a must get away for this Summer is at the top of our list!
So much to do! Let me tell you about things to do in Colorado Springs that will make lasting memories!
Garden of the Gods Park: The Park is a unique biological melting pot where the grasslands of the Great Plains meet the pinon-juniper woodlands of the American Southwest and merge with the mountain forest of the 14,115-foot Pikes Peak. There are 15 miles of trails in the park. The Perkins Central Garden Trail is a 1 1/2 mile paved trail. You can also enjoy biking, horseback riding, birding, and rock climbing. The park and the visitor center are free and open to the public.
Pikes Peak: America’s Mountain attracts more than 500,00 visitors every year, making it the most visited peak in North American. If you think that’s impressive, wait until you see the view! There are so many adventures to be had in the Pikes Peak region! From zip lines, mountain biking and river rafting. One of the adventures is the Cave of the Winds Mountain Park! It was discovered in 1881, this is a must-see attraction that will thrill you! This is located near Pikes Peak and Manitou Springs, the cave offers three unique cave tours, the Discovery Tour offers an easy and fun look at all the coolest cave features, a spooky Lantern Tour with ghost stories and folklore and a Caving 101 tour that takes you in the undeveloped, behind-the-scenes sections of the caverns.
Colorado Springs: Not a big outdoors kind of person? There is so much more to Colorado Springs! They offer more than 60 area attractions including museums, parks, a zoo and so much more! Summer is here! What is at the top of your Summer Bucket List?
