Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s 2019! Where did the year go? It’s amazing how January causes you to reflect on the past year. 2018 for our family was filled many blessings but so much turmoil. Because of this it made me take a different look on today’s favorites.
The first thing I would love to add to my Friday Favorites is my family! When it seemed the darkest, one of my kids or husband was able to shine a light on the good things of life. My father in law had many struggles with his health this past year and passed away. My husband tried his hardest to take care of his parents through this time, and my job was to take care of my husband.
We also had a family member that was struggling with knowing who they were. Nothing is harder for a mom than watching her child struggle with life and not letting anyone help. There were many days of crying and struggling to carry on. One of the hardest thing for me is to feel sorry for myself when I realize how blessed I am! I also realized we all have our struggles and we need to take the time to take care of each other.
Second, on my list, is our new home! 24 years ago, we moved into our old home and only wanted to stay there about 10 years. As life happened, it turned into a lifetime! I will always hold that home in my heart because it’s filled with so many good memories. When we sold our home, it went really fast! The search started! We went from home to home, and a lot of other homes sold so quickly that we didn’t have a chance to put in a bid. I would love a house and my husband would hate it. The home we chose, screams me! Lisa didn’t like it at first because of the color but now she tells me weekly that she loves it! Why do I love it? We have more than 1.5 bathrooms, the kitchen area is more open than our old home, and I love the color!
Third, I love Lou Lou Girls! When we started the blog, 5 years ago, my goal was being able to work from home so I could be here for my two youngest girls. I have been able to do that! I have the opportunity to create, explore and learn from our beautiful followers. Thank you!
Fourth, 2019! Call me crazy but I think this year is going to be amazing! After I go through something hard, I realize how strong I can be and I want to conquer the world! Okay, maybe just my world! I hear people picking their word for the year and I have never done that before but I started thinking about it. I can’t ever just pick one, so I have picked a series of words. Love, happiness, curiosity, fearless, and hope. I wish this on you too, and I hope that together, we can have the most amazing year ever!
