Happy Friday everyone! Here are a few of Amber’s favorite things this week!
This week I’ve been running on very little sleep because my one-year-old is going through a sleep regression. Or he’s sick. or teething. or just hates me. You never know. I love him but I feel like a mess. Actually, I think ever since I became a mom I’ve been a mess. Luckily my Friday Favorites number one is helping me get over that!!
- The Magic of Tidying Up – Japanese Art of Decluttering: THIS. BOOK. IS. LIFE. CHANGING. This book is all about resetting your life through discarding the things that have served their purpose and keeping the things that currently spark joy. The author talks about how our possessions are a reflection of who we are and how important it is to just have what sparks joy now. As I’ve gone through the tidying process in this book I’ve realized that I’ve been a little lost. I’ve been resisting becoming a “mom” and instead trying to hold onto my younger sense of self. I’ve discarded piles and piles of clothes that no longer work with my postpartum body. I’ve gotten rid of books that I never read. I’ve cleared out craft supplies that only made me feel like I had to be “crafty” to fit in. Now I have space, and vision of what I want to do with that space, so that I can be who I am right now, instead of looking back over my shoulder at who I have been in the past. It may sound a little wacky, but trust me, it is a great way to get your life in order and feel like you know who you are again! Check it out!
2. Agents of Shield: While everyone else I know is watching the Bachlorette, I’m over here cheering on Fits and Simmons. Yes, I have always been a nerd. I love a good action/adventure/spy/love story!! It has me on the edge of my seat just thinking about it!! It’s. so. intense.
3. Grass: We are putting in our sod tomorrow and I can’t wait!!! Getting a yard ready is hard work. I can’t wait to enjoy it!
Aveeno Sheer Hydration Daily Moisturizing Lotion: I never had dry skin until a couple years ago and now it’s like I can’t live without lotion. I hate the feeling of lotion on my hands and so I’ve been on the search for a lotion that didn’t bug me. This one is my favorite because it goes on smooth but doesn’t stick to my hands or take forever to rub in!
