First of all, diapers are no joke folks. They can either save or ruin your day. No butts about it! Haha! I’m feeling funny tonight!
But seriously… Let me tell you about a few experiences we’ve had with diapers; of course we only remember the bad ones, so here goes…
We live 3-4 hours from our relatives, so we travel A LOT to see them. When our first baby was born, we were traveling to my parents home to show off our new little arrival. We had been in the car for about 2 hours, and the baby was sleeping, so we thought we were totally killing this parenting thing….Wrong!
Shortly after high-fiving each other for our awesome parenting skills, we discovered a horrible smell coming from the back seat. I investigated and learned that our poor baby had experienced his first “blow out” (that’s the term we lovingly use to describe a poopy diaper disaster that escapes the diaper)! Oh man, it was NOT pretty, and the car seat suffered tremendously that day. We were idiots and didn’t learn from this mistake immediately. We continued used the same brand of diaper for a few more trips; which sadly resulted in 3 more blow outs! They were disgusting and not so fun to clean up.
At first, we thought this was just something that happened with babies; which of course it does sometimes if the diaper isn’t put on the baby correctly, but it shouldn’t happen ALL the time and it totally was!
We shopped around to other brands and we were pleased to find that, with the right brand of diape
r, there were no more blow outs! Yay!
What’s the brand that helped you ask? You’ll find out, keep reading…
Our first daughter was born a few years after our son, and apparently we forgot everything we learned with our son. We thought we’d try to save a few buck and buy the ‘store brand’ of diaper. Things were going okay, the ‘store brand’ had a cute little design on it, but it didn’t feel as soft. “NO biggie,” I thought.
Our poor baby started breaking out in a terrible rash everywhere the diaper touched her! It was crazy and she was miserable. So once again, we returned to our beloved brand and the rash disappeared!
Fast forward to baby number 3… Apparently, we’re slow learners!
We decided to try to start saving money to buy a new home. Back to the generic store brand we went. Until.. the tabs on the diapers kept ripping off! What the heck?!?! We had to use duct tape to keep the diapers on!
And then the REALLY fun part happened…
During the night, Sophie’s diapers weren’t keeping her dry, the pee would escape and drench the entire crib! Which meant an unhappy baby, and a very tired and unhappy mom. I had to change the sheets in the night more than once!
Finally, I’m happy to report, we made the permanent and lasting decision to never buy anything other than Huggies Little Snugglers
- They’re super soft and cuddly and gentle. Which is great, because Ivie (my fourth baby) has sensitive skin, just like me and my other sweet babies.
- They have this cool little line on the front of the diaper that tells you when your baby is wet, so you’ll know when your baby needs to be changed without having to investigate further.
- They keep the messes IN the diaper. Pretty much the most important reason we use diapers anyway!
- The diapers stay put! Put them on your baby the right way, and keep your baby in the right size and you’re golden! Huggies Little Snugglers fit up to size 4!
- They’re available at Smith’s!
And that’s a true, honest-to-goodness story folks! I’m sad that it took all of those experiences to convert us, but you live and you learn, right?!?!
Take my word for it. Don’t buy anything other than Huggies
! The other brands might be a few dollars less, but in the end they’re a waste of your money because you’ll end up throwing them out or giving them to some unsuspecting parent.
And, if you’re looking to save a few bucks, Click here to save $2 on Huggies Little Snugglers at Smith’s, part of the Kroger family of stores, now through 5/30, while supplies last!
