Since our back yard is up against our neighborhood’s walking trail, everyone has seen the craziness happening and has been asking what in the world we’re doing. No, we’re not going to be raising chickens and no we’re not putting in a pool. We’re building a gabion retaining wall and putting in a tramp! And then sprinklers, and then grass, and then a fence, and then a garden, and then a shed, and then…. someday the yard will be finished.
By the way when I say “we” are building a retaining wall I really mean my husband is. I’ve probably put about six rocks in. But… we tell people “we” had a baby when we talk about our new boy Haden, so I’m going to stick with “we” when referring to the retaining wall too. It’s called marriage, am I right? 😉 And of course, a shout out to everyone who has come and helped! It’s made “our” work much easier!
We are putting in a rectangle tramp because those are the best of course! I was a gymnast so I loved tumbling on my parent’s growing up. Right now it’s just a hole we let our two year old run around in though.
This is a sketch of what it’s kind of all going to look like when it’s done. I’m obviously not very good with proportions seeing that the deck area is only as big as the tramp, but you get the idea right?
If anyone has any 5-10″ rock they need to get rid of let me know!
