How to be the best dental patient ever!

I received a discount on my dental work in exchange for a review of Dr. Robert Barrick, but all opinions are 100% mine. How-To-Be-The-Best-Dental-Patient-Ever I recently had a LOT of dental work done. I had been putting off a trip to the dentist for months because we don’t have dental insurance. I thought I would just keep putting it off until things got bad, which is a TERRIBLE idea.  Until one morning I had an old filling pop out while I was flossing my teeth, and I realized that I couldn’t wait any longer. I did some research online and asked around on social media sites in my area for recommendations, and I finally settled on Dr. Rob Barrick. 14 I’m so glad I did. It turns out I had a lot of old fillings that were cracked and in pretty bad shape. Dr. Rob had this really cool camera that lets you see what kind of shape your teeth are in CLOSE UP and I could see that it was NO BEUNO with my own little eyes. I was pretty embarrassed that I let it get that bad, but I honestly had no idea that my old fillings could crack the way they did. 1615   I honestly can’t remember how many teeth he had to fix, but I can tell you that I feel like I have a brand new smile, and I don’t want to lose it after all that work, so I thought I’d share some tips I’ve adopted for becoming the best dental patient ever. After all, I have always been an A student, and I want to get an A on my next dental exam!

  1. Brush your teeth! Well, duh! Everyone knows that right?! It’s best to brush after each meal. Make sure you’re brushing in circular motion and not TOO hard because you can actually wear your gums down and cause sensitivity. I am guilty of brushing too hard, Dr. Rob’s dental hygienist warned me to brush more carefully in the future!
  2. Floss! You can’t reach all the food debris and plaque with brushing alone. Flossing also helps prevent gum disease which just happens to be the number 1 reason for tooth loss in adults. I don’t want to lose my teeth, so I think I’ll continue flossing.
  3. Cut back on sugar and soda! Plaque and sugar don’t mix well. They eat away at your enamel and can cause decay. A healthy diet can strengthen your teeth!
  4. Get regular dental exams. If I had been more diligent with visiting my dentist, I would have been able to handle my dental problems before they became dental emergencies. I would have saved a lot of money if I had just visited the dentist two times a year as recommended.

Hopefully you’ll use these tips and prevent tooth pain and problems in your future! I know I’ll be a better patient from now on, especially because I like my dentist.
