Thanksgiving Point’s Tulip Festival – Great for Any Occasion!

As I’m writing this, it is rainy and dull outside and all I want to do is go back to the Tulip Festival!! It was so beautiful! I think the best part about it is that it is all completely enclosed so you really feel like you are in a magical land. When we left I remember thinking, wow I feel like I’ve been on vacation! My husband and I were going to try and make a romantic date night out of it but between moving in to our new house and his finals week it didn’t seem like it was going to happen (yet!) so instead I had a girl’s day with my mom and sister!

We also took my one-year-old Cooper, and I was super worried he’d get bored and make the day less enjoyable, but he actually loved it as well! There were plenty of young kids there and I loved seeing the little girls running around in the flowers! (so cute!!!) Cooper – the busybody – was totally content in his stroller because there was so much to see. I think it also helped that there were a lot of open areas where I could take him out and let him run around without worrying he’d destroy the flower beds. I would totally go back with just him!
If you’ve never been to the Tulip Festival before you’re in for a delight! It is an annual event designed to welcome and celebrate Spring. It features nearly 100 different varieties of tulips in every possible color. Each year features a new and unique display never before seen by past attendees, so ifyou have been before, you won’t be dissapointed if you visit again! My favorite area was the Secret Garden because it made me feel like I was in Cinderella when the Prince takes her to his secret swing!
The Tulip Festival is a great family activity and opportunity to enjoy the warmer weather. To meet everyone’s tastes there is food, music and vendors, and even storytelling on the weekends. The colorful flowers also provide families with fun photo opportunities and the chance to enter their photos into an event contest.
The Festival takes place April 10 to May 9 (closed Sundays) from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Thanksgiving Point Gardens at 3900 N. Garden Drive, Lehi, UT. For more information visit
If you’re looking for a reason to go to the Tulip Festival I’d say just do it! It’d be a great family outing, date night, mommy-kid date, or even just a chance to get out in nature by yourself!

  1. I love Tulip Festivals. There's one in Mount Vernon, WA, Grand Rapids, MI, and Pella, IA, too! If you're ever in Amsterdam, there is the grand-daddy of all called Kuekenhoff Gardens (sp?). When you fly into Amsterdam, you see the fields of color from the tulip farms. Thanks for the view in Utah. If you want to see the one in Mount Vernon, WA, check my post on "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" on
    Happy Spring!
