Kathryn is one of my best friends and she sure knows how to cook, especially beef! Her family owns Jones Creek Beef, which is 100% grass fed beef. You can find it at your local Walmart. I was skeptical at first but the beef just flat tastes better. Lucky me, I get the privilege of buying it from the source. The second lucky thing is that Kathryn also has the best beef recipes around.
Matt and I, love to go to Texas Roadhouse, because they always cook Matt’s steak just the way he likes it. Medium-Rare. With some helpful tips from my friends we cooked the perfect steak! This is how she told me to cook it so that it would medium-rare.
First, heat your pan on high. We used a dutch-oven skillet. Then you cook on high for 1 minute for each side of the steak. Set a timer. This is to sear in the juices.
Second, turn the heat to low and cook both sides for five minutes each side, with the lid on. Again, set a timer so you don’t over or under cook.
Third, it’s very important you let it rest for two minutes before eating. Our steak tasted delicious and was cooked to perfection. I just think you can’t go wrong learning to cook a steak from a pro!
Yum! I love steak, I will be using this next time I make one!
