Taco Carne Asada

Yes, we do eat a lot of Mexican food at my house!!! This is what Zac had asked for for his birthday dinner. We had experimented with the other Carne Asada recipe earlier and decided to try another version. Both recipes are delicious! This just has different flavors and it was truly a crowd pleaser.
2 pounds of Flat Iron Steak, cubed
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 jalapeno, minced (remove seeds if don’t like the heat)
1 handful fresh cilantro, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup orange juice
2 limes, juiced
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil

  • In your blender, mix garlic cloves, jalapeno, cilantro, salt, pepper, orange juice, lime juice and white vinegar.
  • Place cubed meat into a gallon Ziploc bag and pour marinade over the meat. Seal the bag and place in your refrigerator, for 1 hour or up to 8 hours, so the flavors can sink into the meat. Don’t do it any longer or your meat will start to break down and become mushy.
  • Drain juice off the meat and place meat in a large skillet. Brown until the meat is completely done.
  • Serve in a warm tortilla with cheese, lettuce and Pico De Gallo.
