Divine Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats

It’s that time of month, when I get to hang out with the Young Women of my ward. I love trying new scrumptious things when we are working on Personal Progress. I have always loved Rice Krispie treats and it’s one of my weaknesses. This is a rice krispie treat on steroids! Seriously, this will become one of your new favorites.  Super simple but your family will go crazy!!!
3 Tablespoons
1 1/2 bags of marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispie  cereal
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 Tablespoons flour
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons milk
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup almonds, chopped
Line a 9×9 baking dish with foil and spray with cooking spray.
In a pan, melt 3 Tablespoons butter over a medium heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until marshmallows are completely melted.
While the marshmallows are melting pour Rice Krispie cereal and 1/2 cup chocolate chips into a large bowl and toss to combine.
When the marshmallows are melted pour over the top of the cereal mixture and mix with a spoon until the cereal is completely coated.
Dump cereal into baking dish and spread out evenly. Butter a spatula to help to spread the mixture.
Push it down the cereal to help pack it in and make the squares firm.
In a pan, melt 1/2 cup of butter over a medium heat. Add the brown sugar, whisking until the sugar dissolves. Allow it to cook for a minute. Turn off the heat and add the vanilla. Let it cool for 20 minutes.
Once it has cooled, add the remaining ingredients, whisking to combine. If it’s too thick, add a little more milk. Spread over the top of the Rice Krispie treats. Sprinkle almonds on top and then let cool in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Remove from fridge, pull out of the pan and remove foil. Cut into squares and they will be gone before you know it!!
