Christ Centered Easter Egg Hunt

One of my most memorable Easter’s was when I was about 13 and we did this Easter egg hunt instead of candy. I loved it so much that I actually remembered doing it which, if you know me at all, is a big deal because I have a VERY bad memory.

I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for ways to show my children the real meaning of the holidays we celebrate. I think this is a fun way to remember our Savior, Jesus Christ, and help make a positive impact on our children.
Here’s how you do it.

Click on the link at the bottom of this post to print the directions. Number the eggs on the outside of the shell 1-12 with a magic marker. Place each highlighted item in the corresponding eggs. Hide the eggs. Let the kids open them in order and keep a copy of the the scriptures with you so, as they open the eggs in order, you can take turns reading the story of the crucifixion.

Smaller children might not last long, so I would suggest just explaining the meaning of each item to them. Children 8-years and up are probably old enough to help read and or listen to each of the verses that go along with the eggs.
