Cheddar Bay Biscuit

My family LOVES Red Lobster. We have a small problem. My kids love it too, which can get really expensive since they always order the crab! Crab isn’t the only thing we crave though, the biscuits are delish!

Last weekend we thought we were going to have time to go to Red Lobster, but alas, we did not. Thus the experimenting with the biscuit.
I’m pretty proud of how these turned out, and they were so easy to make!

I like to make things as easy as possible around here. I’m a busy mom, just like everyone else, and sometimes I just want a short cut or two, so I used Bisquick!

Cheddar Bay Biscuit Recipe

2 cups of Bisquick
1/4 cup of shredded butter (Yes, I said shredded! I read somewhere that this makes your biscuits more flaky and delicious. Put it in your freezer before you start cooking so it’s ready when you are!)
3/4 cup of buttermilk (If you don’t have buttermilk, you can add a teaspoon of vinegar to your milk and it’s a great substitute.)
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1 T of garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1/4 cup of melted butter (To butter the tops with)
1 teaspoon of dried parsley
1 teaspoon of garlic salt

Cheddar Bay Biscuit Directions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a whisk to break up your Bisquick in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Add in your cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. Grate your frozen butter into the Bisquick mixture and gently fold it in, so it’s evenly distributed. Add the cheddar cheese, mix gently with your hands so cheese doesn’t clump. Add milk, folding gently, don’t over mix! Scoop mixture onto a greased cookie sheet. I used a 1/4 cup measuring cup to make sure they were all the same size. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the tops are a light golden brown. Combine melted butter, parsley, and garlic salt together in a small bowl and gently brush the tops of the biscuits when they come out of the oven.
Best served warm! Enjoy!
