Homemade Snickers Bars

My family loved the Twix bars that we made so much, I thought we better try making a Snickers bar. If you love Snickers, you will love this bar!
These bars have several different levels but this isn’t a hard project to do.

Bottom Layer:
1 1/4 cups milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter

Nougat Layer:
4 Tablespoons butter
1 cup of sugar
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 1/2 cups salted peanuts, chopped
1 tsp vanilla

Caramel Layer:
2 bags of caramels, unwrapped
1/2 cup heavy cream
Top Chocolate Layer:
1 1/4 cups milk chocolate chips
1/4 creamy peanut butter

 

Directions:

  • Grease a 9×13 baking dish; set aside.
  • Make bottom chocolate layer: Melt together the chocolate chips and peanut butter in the microwave until completely smooth and melted, stirring every 30 seconds. Pour into the prepared baking dish. Using a spatula, smooth into an even layer. Refrigerate until completely cool and hard, about 30 minutes.
  • Nougat Layer: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the sugar and evaporated milk, stirring until dissolved. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and add the marshmallow fluff, peanut butter, and vanilla. Stir ingredients until completely smooth. Fold in the peanuts, then pour over the bottom chocolate layer. Refrigerate until completely cool.
  • Caramel Layer:  Combine caramels and the heavy cream in a saucepan on low heat. Melt, stirring occasionally, until completely smooth. Once completely melted, cook for an additional 2 minutes. Pour caramel over the nougat layer. Refrigerate until completely cool.
  • Top Chocolate Layer: Melt together the chocolate chips and peanut butter in the microwave until completely smooth and melted. Stirring every 30 seconds. Pour over the caramel layer and smooth with the spatula. Refrigerate until cool and set. About 30 to 60 minutes.
