I am a softball coach at the local high school and I love it so much. With that we have a banquet every year and every year it’s hard to come up with new ideas for center pieces! So for all you baseball fans out there who would like to have a baseball themed party here is one idea. I bought clear vases of all shapes and sizes from Wal-Mart, prices ranging from $3-6. I Filled them with sunflower seeds which I bought at the dollar store, two packs filled almost every vase, so don’t over purchase your seeds like I did. Then I bought 2 colors of Tulle, 4 rolls covered all 13 of my vases, They were about 3 dollars a roll. I got shredded paper, baseball gum and double bubble to surround the vases.
Also, Amber had a film camp this summer so I thought it would be a good idea for one of her desserts to make film reels. So what we did was dip Oreos in white chocolate and made the reel out of gum paste. Now, we were a little special when we started making these, we started putting the chocolate on the Oreos and they kept falling apart and we could not figure out why the chocolate would not dry/cool. Then we remembered that we should probably freeze the Oreos and it went a whole lot smoother. You can buy gum paste already made in a tub or you can mix it yourself, which is a lot easier to work with. Gum paste dries fast and holds shape really well, I used a cookie cutter to cut out the big circle and 2 different sized straws to cut out the holes in the middle. Then we air brushed them black. It was an adventure to say the least. However, I think they turned out cute!
There is a few ideas for some different parties!
