Easy Better than Sex Cake

Better than Sex Cake

I was going through the recipes that I shared when we first started the blog and realized that they are our all-time favorites! The pictures we took back then aren’t the best, but the recipes are.

We will be revisiting a few of them this week and maybe it will be the first time for you and you will discover one of these gems. First at-bat, Better Than Sex Cake!

Barbeques are happening every weekend this summer and we all know that we love to be the one that brings the most delicious dish! This is it!!!

The first thing you do is bake a delicious homemade chocolate cake (you can use a cake mix). Poke holes all through the cake. Pour caramel topping all over the cake and let sit for about 5 minutes. The caramel will run into the holes.

Make a box of chocolate pudding and spread that evenly over the cake.

Cover the cake with Cool Whip and then crush 5 Heath bars to sprinkle on top. I used my Ninja Blender to crush the candy bars.

Chocolate Cake Recipe:

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup Sour Cream
2 teaspoons Vanilla
4 eggs
2 1/2 Cups Sugar
1 cup boiling water
3 cups cake flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup of cocoa

Directions:

In a large bowl combine butter, sour cream, vanilla, and sugar mix until smooth. Add eggs one at a time to the mixture. In a separate bowl combine all dry ingredients and then add to the butter mixture and mix well. Add the boiling water and mix until all ingredients are incorporated.
Pour batter into a well-greased cake pan and bake on 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes, depending on your oven.
Remember, the cake is ready when you can lightly press on the top and it bounces back.

  1. Kim you always have fabulous recipes. This is so fun to have a slick way to find out how you make them. This chocolate cake is tempting me big time but I need to know how much cocoa or chocolate you use in it. 😉

  2. Thank you for linking up at the Wake Up Wednesday Link Party! Pinning to the WUW Party Board for A Peek Into My Paradise. Can't wait to see what you link up next week!
