Addictive Fizzy Fruit
We love our fruit here at the Lou Lou house, here is how to make fruit as a addictive as candy. The kids will love it and so will the adults! It’s super easy and super delicious! Basically this is making your fruit carbonated, it gives it a little kick that is so addicting you’ll have a hard time stopping to eat it. My favorite was the oranges, grapes and strawberries, but you should try it for your self, because Matt loved the kiwis.

First you need to get a cooler and about 2 pounds of dry ice. Place the dry ice in the bottom of the cooler in the corner (NEVER TOUCH DRY ICE WITH BARE HANDS). Cover with kitchen towels. Then place the fruit in around the dry ice and on top. You can fill the cooler clear full if you’d like. Fruits that we tried and worked, oranges, blood oranges, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, kiwi’s and grapes.

Make sure none of the fruit is touching the dry ice directly and that you not put the dry ice directly on the bottom of the cooler or it will crack. You will want to put the fruits in, in their plastic containers, like the strawberries and blueberries and etc. Then wrap the plastic wrap around the seal of the cooler, then wrap the entire cooler to keep the carbon dioxide in the cooler. We wrapped all the way around it top to bottom, even over the handle.

Leave in the cooler for 12 to 16 hours. If you don’t the fruit won’t be as good. Then cut open and enjoy immediately. The fruit will start to lose it’s fizziness in about 30 to 45 minutes. This was so good, we ate a ton of the fruit and then we put the leftovers back in the cooler with the dry ice and then ate it the next day. Since Matt bought about $40 worth of fruit we had a lot but it was gone fast!

  1. I've never heard of this before! Sounds like a fun idea to serve at a gathering. Do you have to slice the fruit before putting it in the cooler, or after it's set for 12 hours?

  2. Well isnt this interesting, I have never heard of Fizzy fruit, what a great summertime party idea.
Boy be careful with the carbon dioxide!!! I would leave the cooler outdoors.
