Yard Progress Before Pictures

Yard Progress Before Pictures! We have been CRAZY busy around here the last few weeks, when I say we, I mean my husband. Our yard has been a dust bowl since we moved in almost a year ago and dirt was taking over our house. It’s amazing how much dirt little feet can bring in!

A lot has changed since last summer, but we’re not quite there yet. If you follow me on social media, you’ll remember when our friends pulled a prank on us by putting all their old Christmas trees in our yard. Our neighbors were all worried that we were idiots, planting trees in the middle of the winter and so close together.

They were all relieved when we finally took them to the dump. I was a little sad though, I actually liked seeing the green in the front yard, even though I knew it wouldn’t last. Shortly before Christmas we hired someone to build us a rock retaining wall around the front of our property. It’s hard to see it in this picture, but it’s the only evidence I have!

A few months later, when we had more money, we finished the rock wall around the back of the property and the kid’s play area. You can find out how we put the trampoline in the ground here. 20150401_171022 20150401_171103

We got all these boulders from our neighbor’s property, They had way too many to deal with and gladly gave them away. We had a small mountain on our property for a while.

My hubby also installed a sprinkler system in our yard himself to help save money. Tomorrow, I’ll show you how it looks with the grass we just put in! It’s a dream come true!!
